Had a stupid design moment today: Fixing my dishwasher, which mostly went well, but I didn't notice leftover water had landed in a tray on the bottom. This tray has a water sensor. Makes sense on paper. What doesn't make sense, is it is designed to run the drainpump CONTINUOUSLY until such time that the water in the tray THAT IS NOT AFFECTED BY THE PUMP becomes dry. The pump will run dry (which is how you break a pump) for no reason.
