February's Last Weekend Activities
The weekend has come and just one more day, it will be March. What a fast pacing world we live in! I am just overwhelmed with the many things happening around and that I get emotional thinking that my baby is growing so fast, I might not be able to document his growth.
I was realizing this as I started making his photobook, specially dedicated to his first year of life in this world. I had photoshoots of Matti when he was one month until he turned one year old. I wished I had taken more photos these days as he has reached a lot of milestones these past few months.
Anyway, this weekend, my husband and I were busy. It was early this year that we had decided to dedicate our weekends to the Lord, keeping our agenda on the weekdays so we can do church stuff on the weekend.
On Saturday, we went to church by one in the afternoon, this is the time for cleaning the church, getting it ready for Sunday plus after that, is the weekly youth Bible study, and then it will be the praise and worship practice as well.
The young people are the hope of the church, we believe that God will provide us with individuals who will be willing to be used as instruments for the church, we currently have around 20-30 young people in the church but not everyone is actively joining the Saturday activities and so we pray for God to move their hearts and give their time and talents too for the Lord.
I praise God for this one named Jessica who is always early, she came at noon and she was already able to sweep the floor, mop it, and when we arrived, we found her arranging the chairs. Bless her! So we just helped her finish arranging the chairs. We then waited for our senior pastor to arrive so to continue with the Bible Study, the lesson was on the book of Jude and after which, the praise and worship practice commenced. Matti slept during the practice, he didn’t mind the music.
As for me, I helped the girls with the visual presentation using the EasyWorship application. I provided some animated background to enhance the presentation and they loved it!
Upon going home, it rained and so I let some of the girls come with us in the car so we can send them home.
Came Sunday, we had breakfast at eight and were gone to church by nine in the morning. It was sprinkling, glad that I took a bath early and hubby too so it was just Matti whom we have to bathe after breakfast. We reached the church just in time and the service started.
The preaching was on Revelation, this is a series and we have reached the bowl of judgment. Some people get anxious about reading the book of Revelation but note that the things happening there, the tribulation, and the fearful judgments will be done to those who reject God. Those who had already accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior will be raptured, we will be caught up in the clouds to meet our Lord and will not be included in the tribulation.
And God, being merciful had given everyone on earth chances, today, we are in the age of grace where we have the church, the evangelists, the preachers, and all to share the word of God, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ dying for the penalty of our sin, we just have to believe his life, death, and resurrection. Believe that He is God and our eternal life with him will be assured. It is faith.
But to those who reject that truth, even to the end will surely receive the consequence of their choices. It is mentioned in the book as we studied it that God had sent many to preach, to share but these people who are left for the tribulation still had hardened their hearts. And so the final judgment is where God’s mercy is no more. That’s when the earth will be given plagues on health, plagues in the sea and streams, and a plague in the sun.
Studying the book of Revelation gives us a sense of urgency for our loved ones to know about Jesus and what He has done for us all so they too will receive the eternal gift of salvation. It is not our work to save them but we are given delegation from the Lord to tell it, share it, so that anyone who will hear the gospel will come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and will be spared from the fires of hell and the judgment to come.
It was a blessing hearing the message. Our blessed hope is in Christ who had laid down His life for our sins, for all humanity that they may turn to Jesus.
After the service, we had lunch, James went back to church for a certain training while I was just at home with Matti. I got the chance to finally get a pedicure. Then I napped together with my baby.
It was a long day and I am glad it rained as it brought peace in my mind hearing the sound of the raindrops while the neighbor was singing his lungs out.
I prepared dinner too, I cooked garlic shrimp! I wished we had butter but none so I settled for vegetable oil instead, it still was yummy!
How about you? What were your weekend activities?
