Customer Service
I am really tired writing this article but I have to do it nonetheless. I don't really have any topic in mind but as I progress with the article something will probably come up. I hope so. Let me start from there and work my way up.
I woke up late today around 8 am probably because I slept late the previous night. I've had a lot on my plate recently and been very busy lately so I haven't had the opportunity to get a good night rest. I did my morning chores as usual and left the house two hours after I had woken up. I first went to school before going to the bank. I think this is where I will pause to focus well on it.
Companies really need to train their employees on how to treat and talk to a customer. There are a lot of workers who don't know how to talk properly and treat their customer badly. This is what you call poor customer service. This is very detrimental to the success of any establishment.
Good customer and customer care service is very important in any business. The way you treat your customers regardless of his or her status really matters because if you treat them anyhow it wouldn't take long before your business is run into the ground.
The bank I went to today has a very poor customer service. I am not a proud person but I demand a level of respect. I treat anybody and anyone with respect so it is only normal that you reciprocate. You should have seen the way I was being talked to. No filter in his mouth whatsoever. He certainly did not have the common sense to be careful with the words he chose. Saying that if I can't be patient, I can leave. What utter disrespect.
It's my fault, probably because I did not treat that disrespect there and then he would have learnt a valuable lesson. Not to talk to people anyhow. You don't know who the person you're being rude to might be. It can put you in a whole lot of trouble that you are not ready for so you have to be careful.
The value of treating your customer well is immense. It makes your company or business welcoming to any potential customer. Any person coming through the front door will feel welcome and at home immediately. Humans value relationships and the way you relate with them really matters. You might be selling a low quality good or service but as long as you have and build a good relationship with them it doesn't matter. They will patronize you regardless.
I just had to mention this as the quality of service in banks especially in my area has greatly reduced and it's becoming too damaging. There is only so much a person can take before reacting. Banks need to do better and train their employees well on the act of relating with customers. No amount of ads or posters is going to do anything.
I think I will stop here for today. What I experienced today really put me off and I just had to rant about it.

IWD
Today all over the world is International Women Day. It is a day taken out to recognize, appreciate and encouraged women all over the world for their selfless contributions towards the society. It is a special day for the female gender as everyone celebrates them and recognize their contributions to the society.
Women impact the society and the world in several ways through their words and actions. They are instrumental in anything possible. You can literally see their touch or effects in anything. The importance and value of a woman cannot be understated. The world will certainly not exist without them.
The theme for this year International Women Day is **Breaking the Bias**. It is centred on stopping any form of discrimination or bias against women and the female gender in general. It aims to sensitize people on the seen and unseen bias against women in the society. The goal is to make sure that no woman is denied any opportunity based on her gender and show she can do it just as well, even better than men.
We know that there is an already established social construct for both genders. The male is expected to be the head and the sole provider of the family. He is expected to shoulder any responsibility and lead his family. The man is generally regarded as the head in many cultures. For the female, she is expected to be the neck of the family. To support the man physically, mentally, emotionally and even financially. She is the one in charge of taking care of the family and making sure everyone is okay. She is important in any family and the home cannot function properly without her. In some sort of way she is in charge because she cares for the family and everyone meets her anytime they are in trouble.
But unfortunately this is where the society gets it wrong. The society limits women to only being housewives and supporters. It doesn't think women can and should be more than that. Women can be so much more if you give them the chance. They are caged eagles ready to soar. Women are the foundation of any society but they can also be the structure.
Women should not be limited in anyway as they have so much to give. This is where we have to come together in breaking this bias. There are many ways in which we can achieve this.
First of all Education. This is the most important way. Education is very important in any society and we must make sure that the girl child is educated. This will make sure that academically and mentally sound women are bred so that they can impact the society in ways you can only start to imagine.
We need to go to cities, towns and villages raising awareness on the need to involve women in the running of the society. It is only by starting little that we can achieve something big. This is one of the best ways of breaking the bias right from the root.
Lastly we all must come together and agree on this. We must make a conscious effort to actualize this goal. It is only by doing this that we can make any progress.
To this end I congratulate every woman out there and wish them an happy International Women's Day.
Oppression
I'm not really in a good mood or a great state of mind currently as I am going through a lot. Pressures on all sides coming down on me. It hasn't been a great week even though it's just Monday but as a man you've got to push through and get yourself together. This life no easy.
On today's topic, I can't really build a lot on it since the scope is very narrow but as I don't have much to write about and since I'm not really okay I chose this simple topic.
Now when I mention oppression, I'm not talking about the regular traditional meaning but I'm talking about the way it's used where I'm from. I'll explain.
Let's say someone is in a relationship or has made a lot of money or has done anything notable at all and then post it all over social media or just makes it know in the public space for everyone to know that's oppression. Then there's you who doesn't have any of this seeing someone have all of this and then you feel pressured and sad/depressed that you don't have that special someone or you don't have that particular amount of wealth. It gets really depressing. The person might be doing it intentionally or unintentionally but it doesn't matter as long as it's all in your face.
In my culture people make sure everyone knows when they've made it. They don't make it a secret at all and ensure that they show off. It doesn't matter if they acquired their wealth legally or illegally as long as they have the 'bag'
This makes people who are still hustling feel inadequate. Feelings of them not trying hard enough starts to creep up. Feelings of laziness when in fact they are doing their best. It isn't a good feeling at all. It puts someone in a state of depression and loneliness. It's only knowing that your time is coming and you should just keep on grinding that you can get out of that state of mind because as they say *life na turn by turn.*
The relationship part is the common one between the two. Here, when two people are in a relationship you are not going to rest. Anytime they post a picture with their better half your heart skips a beat. You begin to wonder why can't I have this. When you see the smile on their face, the happiness in their eyes, the joy in their heart you can't but not be jealous.
You'll be seeing things like; me and mine, loml, one and only, sweetheart, cherry blossom, best friend with love emoji and so on. You might even see of them with a padlock emoji right beside their sweet nonsense. Then you see them write epistles for them. The worst one is when they post it on their WhatsApp status directly oppressing you. The next thing is to mute their status straight.
All I can say is, this life no balance.
Finesse
Hey guys. How are you all doing? I trust that you are fine and well. I am okay. It has rained for the past two days where I am staying and the weather is pretty cool. Today's rain was heavy and the wind very turbulent. I even had to look for cover. After the wind stopped blowing it started to rain immediately and it was a heavy downpour. I was in the car on my way home and I witnessed everything. The roads were flooded and the gutter was gushing with water. The stream overflowing with water. It was a really terrifying experience but thank God I got home safely and the house wasn't flooded with water.
So something funny happened with me today and I will like to share it with you guys. As I was walking around today there was a particular song playing in my head. The song is titled **Finesse by Pheelz and Buju.**
That song is amazing. It's on repeat in my head and is playing rent free. The song burst into limelight when the Nigerian artist Buju released a snippet of it. It became an instant hit as you could hear it everywhere. In TikTok videos, Instagram reels and comedy videos. If a part of this song was so good people wondered how the rest will be.
So the snippet trended all over social media and it was everywhere. People couldn't wait for the official release of the song. The song finally came out this week and just like the snippet it was an instant banger. It featured an artist who was spectacular as well. Buju's part as usual was amazing and he definitely delivered. The song is really good and it will certainly be on the airwaves for a long time to come. It isn't going away anytime soon.
The reason why the song blew was because it was very relatable to the average Nigerian youth lifestyle. Parties, Netflix and chills and women. It is a song that embraced and encouraged the ideology of **you only live once**. Living for the moment and not caring about the past and future is what it means. In the song it is said that you should enjoy yourself and that if you become financial insolvent it is nobody's business but yours. So you have fun with your resources and whatever happens after nobody should put their mouth in it.
While I have some questions about this ideology I can't but think that with the general situation of things in the country why not just enjoy yourself. Tomorrow is not sure for you. Why not enjoy today for you do not know what tomorrow may hold.
There are a lot of *crazy things* happening and it seems we can do nothing to stop them. It's so *cold outside*. The streets are not smiling. Why not become the *Baddest Boy* already *smile* because you're *blessed*.
It's a very unpredictable situation out there so it's better we enjoy the little things life has to offer. So from the lyrics of the song.

My Campus Anonymous Night.
Whoever knows what anonymous is know that when people do it, it doesn't always end well. This was the case when my University Student Union decided to organize one for the whole campus.
Anonymous is a web app which people use for sending anonymous messages. Let me explain this better. Let's say someone wants people perhaps friend or family to say something to him or about him but he doesn't want to know who said it, he uses anonymous. Anonymous makes this possible as you do not know who sent the message to you thus providing animosity.
People use it when they want to know what people think about them. If someone likes them or has a crush on them. If someone has a grudge against them or secretly hates them. It is generally to know people true feelings towards you.
So it is always a big occasion whenever somebody is organizing an anonymous as you get to see things you won't normally see and say things you won't normally say to the person. So you're saying it behind the person back and not in front of them probably because you don't have the confidence to. A lot of people look forward to it as tables are shaked, friendships are broken, relationships are wrecked and deep secrets are revealed. It is a place or situation in which nobody is truly safe and your secret or insecurities can be exposed and you wouldn't know who did it. In short anonymous is a really dangerous web app.
The fact that you don't and can't know is what makes it interesting and concerning at the same time. Through it you can know whether someone is secretly crushing on you. Also you can take note of some of your bad habits pointed out and work on them. You can also feel appreciated from the good things people say about you and feel encouraged.
The other side of the coin is the terrible things people can say about you. It can even be a lie but since they just want to drag your name in the mud they will do it regardless. People say very terrible things about each other on anonymous. Things that can greatly reduce someone's self esteem and make them to start contemplating suicide. They could also spread lies and rumors just to tarnish your image. This is the very sad part of anonymous.
For my school's own I saw a lot of crazy things. I was really shocked about the amounts of risque things I saw. How could all of this be happening on campus right under my nose. So a lot of students aren't actually like they seem. So they really like 'bad' things. When someone comes into the school for the first time they will think that we are good well cultured children not knowing that a lot of us are engaging in sexual and suggestive activities.
This was really surprising to me, so students like this exist. Wow! I was different things that various students wrote. Some complaining about other students. Some saying that they have feelings for their fellow student and there are some that are too explicit for me to mention here. *Truly things dey occur.*
I guess that is what you see whenever you do anonymous. Most of the time it is just pure cruise and students catching fine but the problem is when people don't know where to draw the line. A lot of people don't take it serious as the people that are saying it don't mean but a substantial number of people take offense and are not happy.
Well I don't take anonymous serious and I don't think people should it's just a means of catching cruise among young people. If you're laughing just make sure you're secret doesn't get exposed if not it wouldn't be funny any longer.
Nonetheless I am a big fan of anonymous. It is a fantastic way to unwind.
Happenings
There are a lot of things currently going on in my country which I am not happy about. There are also certain things I am facing in school and the workload is getting too much for me. The stress is beyond this world. Recently there has been a shortage in fuel supply, reduced power supply and a rise in temperature causing a heat wave, all of this happening exactly at the same time.
This could all be a mere coincidence but it isn't a good one. How could all of this happen/occur at the same time. It is already getting too much and increasingly difficult to handle. Honestly, at some point I wondered how I found myself in such a country as this. That they have little or no regard for the welfare of their citizens. It is quite unfortunate.
You begin to wonder who is in charge if all of this can happen. Why exactly do we have a government in place or is it that the system isn't functioning. Clearly the system isn't working because all of this is not supposed to happen especially at the same time. If you are looking to play the blame game it wouldn't work because no one is ready to take responsibility. Always shifting the blame from one person to another or from one organization to another. This system needs a total overhauling.
You might be thinking why does this guy care so much about all of this, it's because it is that bad. The weather is exceptionally hot, there is no light to turn on the fan or A.C. and there is no fuel to turn on the generator. You can now see how frustrating it is.
We can't do anything about the weather since it is nature. Electricity supply is not consistent but at least they bring for a substantial amount of time but now they don't bring it at all. It's like they've decided not to supply us electricity. This is bad as power is in high demand. People need it for various important reasons. For any city to function or grow it needs a constant energy supply.
Okay then, at least we will buy fuel and turn on our generator since this is not the first time of them disappointing us but no there is fuel scarcity. This is definitely the last straw that broke the camel's back. The fact that they could not give us power and at the same time not give us fuel was really beyond me. This just goes to show their level of incompetence.
It is really sad the situation we have gotten ourselves into as a country. Where other places including our neighbors get constant power supply we on the other hand have to beg and plead with them to give us light even if it is just for an hour. A lot businesses need energy to function especially the ones in the agriculture and food sector. Families that buy perishable foods in large amounts because of the fluctuating prices of goods and store in their freezer will be worried about it spoiling. This will lead to massive wastage. Businesses that also required for their day to day running might just have to close shop.
This article has unfortunately turned into a rant about how bad things are currently. I just had it really bad last week and I need somewhere to vent. I haven't been able to sleep well in the night because of the heat and it has greatly affected my productivity. I can barely achieve anything during the day. This comes at a particularly bad time when I need to be serious because my academic work is already piling up. I need to be in the best shape both physically and mentally but this current situation isn't making that possible.
The light has become better recently and I think the problems are getting solved little by little after a large portion of the population complained. The fuel scarcity is still persistent and it doesn't look like it's going to end anytime soon. Looks like importing bad fuel into the country caused a lot of problems. It has greatly affected the supply chain and demand has surged.
Things need to get better in this country because we cannot continue like this.
My Single Life
So today I didn't have anything in mind to write and decided to look inward on what to write about. It then dawned on me that I could write about something trivial, my love life. I know this is funny and you must be laughing inside even I, am but wait hear me out first.
There is really nothing interesting about my love life even though you might think otherwise. It is boring and very depressing. Like how single can a guy be. I am single to stupor but that doesn't mean I don't have feelings or that I am not willing to enter a relationship.
I am a very complicated person even too complicated for my own good. Till this date I don't know what exactly I want. Whether I want to be in a relationship or not. It is really confusing and I am still trying to discover myself and what I want.
That doesn't mean I don't get oppressed or depressed when I see couples around me. It places a sort of pressure on me and a cloud of loneliness. I begin to wonder why I can't get someone to love me like that. Someone to care for me and hold me tight. To feel loved is all I want. All this forming hard guy is not form me. I desire to love and be loved.
I know most guys won't say this outside and hide their true intentions or feelings. Maybe it is a natural or adaptive behavior to hide your feelings so as not to be rejected. It is better for people not to know than for them to know and serve you breakfast (heartbreak).
This is a safety mechanism against emotional trauma mostly from guys. On the other hand girls are really expressive when it comes relationship and love. They let people and the entire world know that they desire to love and be love infact always talking about marriage and how they will spoil their future husband.
There are many reasons for the difference between both genders in their form of expressing emotions but one thing brings them together, the desire to enter into a romantic relationship. Nobody wants to be alone no matter how many times they say it. We all want to have someone by our side. Someone that we can lean on and share our burdens with. This can be a close friend but most times it's your better half. We can survive alone but we thrive when we have someone special by our side.
I know I was supposed to talk about how single I am but I had to talk about this. I might be single but I still have a handful of female friends in my life thanks to my male friend. I don't really associate with the other gender not because I don't want to but because I am incredibly shy. I pray everyday for the confidence to walk up to a beautiful lady and talk to her. Maybe one day it will happen but it is not looking anytime soon.
Hopefully one day I won't be this single again and I would have someone to call my own. Till then food is bae.
When You're Going Out Tell Someone
Hello everyone. How are you all doing? I hope your week has been fun and fulfilling. Today I didn't even know what to write about as nothing readily came to my mind but as I was scrolling through the chats of a WhatsApp group I am on I got an idea of what to write.
A friend of mine who doesn't reside in my city said that he was going out to go and meet someone on the other side of town. He has only spent close to a year in my city and does not know everywhere. So he asked for directions to his destination on the group chat.
We gave him directions but then started to wonder what exactly he was going to do there. He doesn't really know anyone so why is he then going out. We asked him and he said someone sent him transport fare to come and see him. We said okay and told him to be safe out there particularly in the place where he was going too.
One of us said that he is not a child so there was no need for us to be bothering ourselves. Nonetheless we told him to be careful out there. That the society is getting really dangerous and we have to be careful about the places we go to especially if you are not familiar with it. Also if you are meeting a stranger for the first time just like my friend here you have to be extra cautious as you do not know the kind of person he or she maybe.
Thankfully, he came back safely and even said it was an interesting journey. That the guy he went to meet was a pretty cool and chill guy. He was lucky as that isn't always the case. Some have been very unfortunate.
Some people have been killed, kidnapped or gotten missing all in the name of going out. Maybe they went to meet a stranger who didn't have good intentions towards them and as such did them harm or maybe an unfortunate incident happened on their way. Whichever one it is not good.
The society is increasingly become dangerous. Things are getting out of hand especially in my country. People are turning to crime as a source of livelihood and this calls for great concern. The hardship is much especially on the youth who is expected to have gotten everything figured out at such a young age. That is why most of this criminals are youths and teenagers. The pressure applied on them causes them to turn to a life of crime. When this happens they become a problem to the society and causes it to be unsafe.
This is why I tell people that whenever you're going out you should at least tell one person where you are going to. It is for your safety and the mental wellbeing of the person you're telling. Today's title is more of an instruction. We should endeavor to not only think of ourselves but also of our loved ones. The decision we make also affects them.
So with the way things are going we should be more vigilant and careful because there are a lot of bad and evil people out there. Be careful about the places we go to and the people we associate with. Our safety is paramount.
An Ongoing Invasion
I am sure that we are all aware about what is currently going on in the world. Unless you live under a rock or in a cave you wouldn't know what is going on. There is a military invasion currently going on in Europe. Multiple reports have suggested that Russia has finally invaded Ukraine.
I know we have different opinions about what is going on but let us first focus on the news. There has be warnings weeks ahead of the impending invasion of Ukraine. Different world powers have been telling the whole world about this, sounding the alarm. The US and NATO have been talking about it. Russia building it forces at the border with Ukraine. Sending thousands of its troops there. It has been a gradual process so it was just a matter of time before the inevitable happened.
This does not mean the West did not try everything in it's power to prevent it from happen. They sent delegates and diplomats to Russia to look for a diplomatic and peaceful resolution to this but it seems the Russian were hellbent on their plans. All of it were in vain as the attack still happened.
There were threats of economic sanctions from the US but everything fell on deaf ears. From Russia point of view the West could not do anything to stop them and as such they went on with their plans and attacked Ukraine with all force from all sides.
The result was devastating as the images that emerged showed. There were air raids and missile strikes all occuring simultaneously. Ukraine defense system was put to test. The country has called the national community to come and see what Russia is doing. That they are the aggressors and they are only trying to defend themselves and their country.
War is not a pleasant affair at all and there is never truly a winner at the end as both sides experience huge losses in terms of lives and properties. So this makes you wonder why nations still go to war. That's because man while he is a social animal is still a wicked creature.
Now don't take offense at that. I am saying that most if not all of us have some bad characteristics in us. A selfish nature. When you think like this you get to understand better why countries still go to war. That's because they have leaders that exemplify such characteristics. The citizens of the country might not be in support of it but as long as they have a leader like that anything he says goes.
People go to war for various reasons but none of it is justified. There are always better and saner ways to resolve conflicts. Violence should always be the last option or no option at all. People need to start to understand this and the world will be a better place.
But since this has already occurred there is only one plausible solution that will work in this case. A corresponding response of force. The world needs to be united against this attack because if Russia runs over Ukraine God only knows where and when they will stop. The US needs to show that they are the world power and need to come with full force to defend the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
I am against war but there is a saying *that the only way for your enemy to drop his gun is to show up with a bigger gun.* Now I am not preaching violence but we need to show them that we can stand up to them because people like that smell weakness like a dog or hyena.
In conclusion I hope that the war ends soon and everything returns to normal if not like what Albert Einstein said;
**I don't know what weapons will be fought with World War 3 but World War 4 will surely be fought with sticks and stones.**
I'm So Awkward at Parties
For those who don't know I am a very closed up guy and not social at all especially if I don't know. It's kind of really bad. Like I might be seeing you everyday and I won't even greet you or say hello. I see some of my secondary mates and I don't greet them because I think that since we didn't really talk back then I am not obligated to greet you. I can say that I am an extreme introvert.
I know this isn't good at all and I am supposed to work on it but what can I do. I am not just that kind of person that can walk up to a total stranger and talk. It's just not me. I am a very quiet guy and like to keep to myself so this makes it extra difficult. I like to mind my business and stay on my own lane. I don't like disturbing people and I especially don't like people disturbing me.
Now I know you guys might be thinking which kind of human being is this or which planet is he from because he is definitely not from this world but please wait. Even with the way I painted it, it isn't good but I am trying to work on it. I can say for a fact that I am very social on social media especially Whatsapp.
I can say I am very lively to chat with and even my friends can testify to that @Abhay @Iamsemaj @Preshdan @SilverBack . I have an exceptional sticker game. I have a sticker for almost every emotion imaginable. I think I even chat more with stickers than with words. It really is an irony, I don't talk much real life but I talk a lot on the internet.
I also have a really go entering line. The way I slide into people's DM is really skillful. You can't even get angry wondering who gave this guy my number because I will totally put your mind at ease. I will first enter with a sticker to douse the tension and then introduce myself in a witty way just to make you laugh and smile. You guys should take note so that you will enter a lady's DM the right way.
I wasn't always like that though. I was a very formal person when introducing myself. Straight forward and straight to the business but someone made be change and made me realize that this life is not hard, you just need to chill at times. Not everyone is serious like me is what my friends made me realize. That I should be free sometimes and to tell you the truth it wasn't a bad decisions. I met new people and more people knew me. I got the needed exposure and it's good to know and meet new people.
I am still working on it but at least it is getting better. I am not as closed up as before and I think I'm more social but today I attended an impromptu party and it was all shade of awkward. Normally I don't like parties but then I like party food so I just need to persevere.
I can be very awkward at parties, looking everywhere and just smiling anyhow. Not really talking to people and just keeping to myself. Generally I don't like crowded and noisy places. I just like a place that is cool and calm with Wizkid, Fave, Tems and Buju playing in the background. Now that's my kind of party.
Now this party wasn't crowded at all, just few family and friends. It was pretty chill though and the Jollof rice was good. The chicken in particular was awesome, so big. I kind of enjoyed myself because I was in the company of my friends via WhatsApp and I wasn't really alone. We didn't stay long and left after like an hour.
I think I am improving and who knows maybe one day I will walk up to a girl and be able to talk to her. I am extremely shy when it comes to that and the sad part is there are a lot of beautiful girls in my campus and I can't talk to them. But one step after another. I am gradually making progress.
The Dembele Situation
Ousmane Dembele is a french footballer who plays for FC Barcelona in Spain. He joined Barcelona from Borrussia Dortmund in the summer of 2017 the same time Neymar left Barcelona for Paris Saint Germain. He was brought in as a direct replacement for the Brazilian and was expected to hit the ground running so much so that the club won't feel the absence of Neymar.
This wasn't to be. The french time at Barcelona has been nothing short of underwhelming. Disappointing performance one after another. Game week in and out. This doesn't mean that he has shown some sparks of brilliance but it's still not enough to cause a fire. To say the least he hasn't performed up to expectation.
He signed a five year deal when he joined the club in 2017 meaning that his contract is going to expire this summer in 2022. His time at the club has been full of injuries and controversies. He has mostly had injuries relating to the thigh because he is a sprinter. Also he has had some disciplinary issues. Not coming early for training, sleeping late because he was playing video games late into the night. Also falling ill because of not taking proper care of his body.
He didn't perform as expected by everyone in the club especially for the huge amount of money that was paid for him. You don't pay that kind of money and not expect something better. Like look at Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk, that's what you call a player justifying the amount of money spent on him. But I'm not here to talk or rant about how Dembele has been a total flop at Barcelona, I am here to talk about his contact situation that was a very big piece of news during the January transfer window. It will probably still be on people's lip till the end of the season.
As expected the club offered him a new contract not necessarily because he deserved it but because they couldn't let him leave for nothing in the summer. Of course they couldn't offer him a deal better than his current one financially because
His performance did not merit it
The club is in a terrible place financially and cannot afford to exceed it's wage bill
This definitely did not go done well with the player and his representatives. They some how thought that he deserved an increase in his salary. How could they even think about that? How can someone who's spell at the club has been a total failure be expecting a new contract.
Okay let us say maybe he performed over average which he didn't, can't he see that the club is not financially buoyant and cannot afford to over pay players. He should at least consider the situation at the club and be more free when negotiating his contract. But no he would not budge.
Because of this back and forth between the player and the club management, they weren't able to reach a common ground in time. He did not accept any contract proposal brought by the club to him and his agent was proving especially difficult. The club resolved to sell him when the January transfer window should come. At least they cannot lose him on a free after spending over hundred million euros on him.
January came and the club was willing to let him go, even telling other clubs that he is on sale and also including him in negotiations for bringing other players into the club but surprisingly the player said that he was not leaving. That he wanted to stay at the club. The club was really taken aback by his decision.
This led to a fight between the player and the club and it was even brought into the public. The press made sure that they milked the story and because of this it was all over the news. Everyone knew about it and it wasn't a pretty sight at all. The whole situation did not paint the club and player in the right light and it was a very messy situation. The club wanted to get rid of him as soon as possible but he did not want to leave. They even went as far as threatening him. Saying that he will be banished to the stands till the end of the season. The player wasn't going to stand for this. He released a statement saying that he was not going to be blackmailed or put under pressure by anybody.
This definitely did not sit well with the club and the whole fiasco dragged on till the transfer window was slammed shut. He ended up not leaving to the club dismay. If he those not renew his contract he is surely going to leave on a free.
The club later changed its mind and said he was going to play if needed. The coach also said that he was part of his team. He even played in Barcelona most recent match. It seems the club is going to be using him regardless of his contract situation.
My Thoughts
I think Dembele should have had the decency to leave the club generating revenue for the already broke club. If he wasn't going to sign the contract he should at least leave. Also the club shouldn't have threatened him like that. If he is going to be staying at the club at least use him. It would not profit us to have a player like him and still not use him. I don't think he is going to sign a new contract after what just happened. I hope the club learns from this experience. It isn't wise to spend lavishly on young players.
Stressful Registration
Hey guys. I trust that you are fine and doing well. I also hope that you're okay. My day has really been busy and I have been all over the place. I had to go to school today to sort out some issues particularly my hostel accommodation.
For those of us that school in federal universities we know how stressful it is to do any kind of registration. Federal and infact public universities are known for frustrating and stressing students out in any imaginable way. Whether it is in paying school fees, course registration, departmental and faculty registration they will always make it unnecessarily difficult.
This happens mostly due to negligence on their part. Not to sound harsh or generalize, most if them are lazy and nonchalant towards work. They do this because there is no system to check their excesses. Most of them do as they like and do not care after all there is no one to stop or question them.
Another reason is that they workload is too much for them. This happened as a result of them being understaffed. There might just be two or three people employed for a job that requires at least six people. As a result of this, they will be stressed out and inevitably burn out. They might even get tired and share some of the workload with the students. This is what happens most of the time especially in my school. The work will be too much for them and they have to give some of it to the students for there to be progress. This is what exactly happened today.
I went for my hostel registration because fortunately I was given a room. Thank God for connecting. The room allocation list was released at the end of last week and I had to pay immediately because payment for accommodation was closing the following week. Also I wanted to get the registration done with so that my room wouldn't be given to another person because of late registration. I needed to do this before I can be given a room.
It was a very sunny day as it has been through out this month. I left the house around 10am and headed for school. Before I went to my Hall of residence I need to make some photocopies and get certain required documents ready. I got to my hostel few minutes pass 11am and surprisingly a lot of people were not there.
I asked the people in charge what I needed to do to start the registration process and they said I should look for my file. I looked to my left and saw a mountain of files on the ground. I had to look through them one by one. After checking almost all of them and I couldn't find mine, I told the porter and she said that I should go inside the office and check another set of files. Luckily after searching for close to 10 minutes I finally found my file. I proceeded to the secretary office and got my room number. Thereafter I had to look for my accommodation booking form and in less than three minutes I found it.
I sat down and waited for close to 40 min before I was finally attended to by the Porters. From there on out it was a smooth process. He checked my documents to make sure that they were intact. He took my passport photographs. I filled out some forms and documents and I was finally through. I was given my room key and told to check the room out.
It was okay and everything seemed to be in good condition. I reported back to him and told him that everything was okay. I was then free to go and finally through with my registration which took me almost the same amount of time as a football match.
This is just to tell you about the stress involved in federal universities and the things students and workers alike go through. I can tell from the facial expressions of the Porters that they were physically and mentally tired. It is definitely not easy and the government needs to do something about improving their working conditions.

Family Love
I know I know, Valentine day has gone and I shouldn't be talking about love. I should have moved on to another topic probably the aftermath of Valentine's day but today as I was sitting down thinking of what to write, this title just came to my head.
I wouldn't say that I am a family man or big or things like that but I genuinely cherish relationships particularly good and close ones. I really love my sisters probably more than my brothers and I can certainly do anything for any member of my family.
Someone once said family is the only thing that remains after everyone has left you. This couldn't be any more true. I am sure that you have heard probably from someone that nobody can love you like your family which is true. Family as they say is everything.
This is why love in the family is very important. Everyone needs one another especially when they are close and are living together. How can you live with someone whom you don't love, that's practically impossible. As a family, you need to do things together under a united front, act in oneness and always be there for each other because if you're not who will.
Families need to bond together and this will foster unity amongst themselves. Love is paramount and of the upmost important in any relationship especially in a family. I know that not all families are like this and there are a few if not many of them. It is rather unfortunate and worrisome but this happens as a result of lack of love in the family.
That's why there are a lot of broken homes in the society today. Children without fathers or mothers. This is not supposed to be and it is definitely not normal. People need to change and learn how to love and tolerate so that they can live together. They need to make certain sacrifices for the good and betterment of the family so that things will change for good.
Like I said nobody can love you like your family and I am not only talking about the ones that are related to you by blood. I am also talking about friends that you regard as family. The ones that you are really close to. That's why you should endeavor to treat them well. Treat in a proper and decent way because your attitude towards them really goes a long way. So this means is not only people that you're related to biologically that you can regard as family but you can also regard certain friends as family.
Love in a family is one of the purest you can ever find and most of the time it is genuine. What I am saying is that people need to start to respect their family and stop placing them over people that do not really care about them. I am talking about men placing their girlfriend over their mother. They will rather spend lavishly on them than take care of their mother at home. This is really sad. They need to change/reset their priority and know that family always comes first. As long as she is still your girlfriend and not yet your life you should focus more on your immediate family. Once you are serious about your relationship then you can shift your focus

When you're sick only the important things matter
Having been sick for the past three days has made me to put some things in perspective and to really think of the things that matter. If you read my most recent article titled 'No Stress' I talked about me not doing past myself and just focusing on the things that matter because stressing out over little things was what got me sick in the first place.
So I have been reminiscing over the things that matter most to me in this life because after your gone it doesn't matter how many years you lived but how many lives you impacted by your actions.
Like they always say when you're on your sick bed or death bed you start to think of life. The things you did, the things you did not do. The things you said and the things you did not say. It all comes to you in a flash. It's like your watching a movie. If your life was eventful it should be an interesting one full of twist and turns, tragedy and comedy.
So, just lying on my bed I thought to myself what are the things that really matter and it turns out they are just a few. The whole experience of being tired, exhausted and sick made me realize that only a few things matter to me in life and I should stop stressing my self over things that do not affect.
Doing extra or more isn't necessarily going to get you anywhere. Life is simple and as such you should be too. There is no need to stress. Only focus on the important things and when doing that don't over stress yourself. I am not saying that you should be lazy but that you should not kill yourself over any matter. After all life continues even after you die. The world doesn't stop for a second and it definitely does not revolve around you.
In the greater sense you do not matter. Try and understand me, I am not saying it in a derogatory manner but there are billions of other people on this same planet. People who are doing the same thing as you and might even be doing a better job. They are not killing themselves over it. So why don't you just take a step back and relax. You deserve a break from life's troubles.
See, this life is too stressful and you can't beat it. When you realize the things that matter to you a lot of things change. Your life gets a whole new perspective or should I say purpose. You stop going up and down from one place to another and you get a focus. It might be a goal or a person. Whichever one it is, it gives your life a whole new meaning.
You get to chase that goal and set a new achievement or break a record. You meet that person and tell him/her how you feel and let that person know how important he or she is too you. You might actually tell the person you that you love him/her or that you cherish your friendship.
All in all being sick has made me change my thought process and views on certain things and once I have fully recovered I will make some necessary changes in my life.
Maybe I will finally tell that girl I have a crush on her.
No Stress
Hey guys. How have you all been doing? I hope this article meets you well. I was supposed to write something else today but I wasn't feeling well at all. I didn't publish any article yesterday because I was so tired and had walked many kilometers. I think I might have walked over sixteen thousand steps.
Yesterday was really stressful for me and as such I postponed writing an article to today. I didn't know my body had other ideas. I haven't had a good night sleep for the past three days and that's probably because it is very hot in the night and I always eat late.
This is because I come back home late in the evening exhausted from school work and then I still have to do some house chores and prepare dinner since it is just me at home. It is really stressful for me and I end up sleeping late. I only have time for myself later on and that's when I can check my messages.
The major reasons I haven't slept well and also because I am sick is the heat. The heat in the city I reside in is straight from well. It's like your in a furnace that keeps heating up and the sad part is that it last for long. Normally the night is supposed to be the cool part of the day but in this weather it is the direct opposite. Neverending heat.
The fact that the electricity situation is bad just made things worse. There is no light to turn on the fan or air conditioning to have some sort of relieve from the continuous heat. If I could just turn on the fan in the night maybe I could sleep well, maybe I wouldn't fall sick.
Recently the light has been terrible all over the city and this has caused some much problems. This just happened to occur the same time there is fuel scarcity. So no electricity from the national grid and no fuel to turn on your generator, how convenient.
Honestly I am tired of this country. So, I am not feeling too well but I decided that today I must write an article. The title is no stress and that is what I will be doing through out this year. I have stressed myself since the beginning of the week and because of that I fell ill.
So I am no longer going to stress myself and I am going to work at my own pace after all only the living can enjoy life. Also nobody should come and stress me, I didn't come to this life because of you so you are not going to be the end of me. If you like shout that's your problem. I *am just going to dey my dey.*
Nobody should stress. That has been my watchword since last year. If I don't come and disturb you just let me be. Let me relax on my own so that I don't fall sick again.

That's the chorus a popular song in my country which depicts how breakups and heartbreaks are common in the society.
Today is Valentine day and I am not here to preach to you about love and all of that infact I am here to say the exact opposite. I am here to talk about the rate of broken relationship and unfaithfulness in relationships and to tell you that true love does not exist in our society.
Unfaithfulness in relationships and infidelity in marriages is so common nowadays that people see it as normal. People don't even expect guys or ladies in relationships to be faithful to one another and expect them to cheat or be cheating. It is a common thing for people to insinuate such things as it is common and rampant in our society.
People think in such a way because it is a man's natural tendency to like more than one woman. It is actually natural just like in any male animal to mate with more than one woman. A man cannot boldly say he likes just one woman, that is practically impossible. He might be in a relationship but there is a lady out there that he likes. He is only in that relationship because that girl is offering him something the other girl is not. Once he is out of that relationship he will move on to that girl he fancies.
Just like the saying that there are many fishes in the oceans, there are also many women out there especially the beautiful ones. I don't think you can ever run out of beautiful women in this world, there are so many. Most men are not satisfied and will want to be with any beautiful lady they set their eyes upon, whether romantically or sexually. Men are attracted to beautiful ladies and if they find a lady more beautiful than their girlfriend or wife they will probably cheat on her.
Generally men in our society aren't raised to be faithful to their partners and are told they can get any woman they want as long as they have money. They don't see women as people who should be cherished but as properties to show off and be used as they wish. Women haven't tried in this regard. They haven't made the situation any better and are even making it worse.
Women nowadays are after only one thing and that is money. Once a guy has that, that is more than enough for them. They do not care what the guy is doing for a living. Whether he is an internet fraudster or an armed robber. As long as he has money and lots of it at that. They do not care about love and men that truly love them but are after money maybe because it gives them a sense of security.
No woman wants to suffer even though they might tell you otherwise. They want a man that will grant them security in form of money. They do not want to hustle with you. This is why they go after *yahoo boys* who have already 'made it'. This doesn't help them as this boys abuse them in ways that you can only imagine. They know that they are only after their money and not because they truly care about them as such they treat them as trash knowing that they can get any other girl they want.
In short, nobody is really faithful in our society. We are after our lustful desires and satisfaction. We do not love we lust. The society does not help the situation at all as the meaning and definition of love has been messed up. People do no longer believe in love because of the experiences they've passed through. Broken marriages around us. The society celebrating divorce and celebrities portraying it at as normal.
Money itself has messed everything up as people see it as the most important thing in any relationship. Nobody wants to suffer but that doesn't mean the love of money should cloud your judgement. Money is important, yes but it is not the main thing in any relationship. Love, commitment and perseverance is what holds any relationship together.
Young men should start to respect ladies and see them as people who should be taken care of and not handled anyhow. They should not succumb to the pressure of making money at a young age and if a woman can not stay with you at your low point then she is not the one for you.
Ladies should know that money isn't everything particularly in a relationship and that money cannot buy you happiness or infact love. You should love a guy for who he is and not for what you can get from him. You should learn to stick with him through thick and thin because that is what a responsible and mature partner does.
The fact that broken relationships are common in our society is because mature people aren't in this relationships. People who don't know the meaning and aren't ready for the sacrifices. If you know that you are not going to be committed, just please save everyone the trouble.

CHE 126
Example of synonyms: CHE 126 and Failure.
That's the name of a course in my University. It's a very infamous course in my school and students are very afraid of it. Mass failure is attributed to the course as a lot of students do not fail the course because it is too complex to understand but because of the weird way in which the lecturer sets the question.
The course itself is not that hard but the way the lecturer presents it is what makes it difficult. Let me start from the beginning of our classes so that you can get the picture.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, we had to resort to virtual classes making us have classes on ZOOM. As this was not difficult enough, the lecturer didn't know how to teach. All he knew how to do was to read the slide displayed on the screen. So this coupled with the fact that there was poor internet connection made it difficult for us to gain anything in his class.
The course was shared among two lectures and he took the second part which was the hard and voluminous part. The first lecturer was kind of okay. Her part wasn't difficult at all and her slides were self explanatory. Her classes were also okay. Her own part went off seamlessly.
The man's part was the direct opposite. His slides looked like they were written in a language no man had ever understand before. So incomprehensible. So many funny and weird looking abbreviations and they were all written in English. This didn't even shorten the slides at all as they were still long. You would wonder if the slides were still going to be long why did he still abbreviate. His lecture slides were really hard to understand and make sense of and there were many for us to read. The fact that even in his lectures he just read directly from his slide word for word including the abbreviation made things world. I'm not exaggerating but you will rather stand in front of a speeding train then stay in any of his classes. It is that bad.
I tried to make sense of it as much as I could but it just proved impossible. To make a note out of it is even harder than you think it will be. In short I didn't understand what I was reading. They announced that we will be having a test soon and that we should prepare. The following week we were going to be tested on the first part (the woman's part) and then the week after that we will be tested on the second part (the man's part).
I knew the first part was easy because the slides were straightforward and you just needed to memorize some point. Do this and you're good, so that is what I did. I wrote the test and I did well only missing two questions. The test was a stroll in the park. Little did I know I was in for a surprise for the second test.
We were going to be tested on the man's part and I didn't know exactly how and what to read. Nonetheless I read what I could. I wasn't prepared for what was to come. The day of the test came and I was shocked. I was shaken to my bones. I was wondering what was this, who sets questions like this?
Those were the questions running through my mind. He brought the questions directly from his lecture slides word for word without changing anything and he will ask you which one is odd and all the options will look like. The odd one is probably the one where he changed SnCl to SnCl2 or PbCl2 to PbCl4. If someone is not careful you won't take note of those little differences which is exactly what happened to me. In the options he would just change a word, letter or even number.
This was a very evil and crazy way to set questions. Testing students on their ability to *cram* your slides. If you didn't memorize his slides or put it in your head exactly how it is in his slides you will surely fail. It is as sure as the color of the sun being yellow.
Of course I failed the test. I wasn't ready for what hit me. Out of 20 questions I got 2. I was terribly shocked as this was the worst failure of my life. I tried to make them check my script again but I failed again in that respect. I spiralled into depression as I wondered how I was going to get out of this.

ASUU Wants To Start Moving Mad.
I woke up to the news that today has been declared a lecture free day by the Academic Staff Union of Universities the labour union representing lecturers in all the federal universities in the country. They did so because they were planning to go on a one day strike in order to catch the attention of the federal government. They have some grievances with the government and claim that the government is owing them millions of naira in salary, bonus and allowance. They claim that the government have failed to live up to their word and have no other choice than to engage on a strike.
This strike has been a long time coming as they've been saying that their demands haven't been met since their last industrial action. They wanted to go on a strike sometime last year but the government acted swiftly under the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Labour to nip the protest in the bud and ensure that it never happened. This was done by releasing a huge sum of money to the Union and promising to meet their other demands.
But that was just to last for a while as few weeks later the body said that they were preparing for a fresh round of protest. They listed their old demands and a few of their new demands that should be met before they can even consider cancelling the strike. ASUU announced that they will go on a one day warning strike before they go on a full strike which will happen if their demands are not met.
Some of their demands are reasonable while a few others are not especially in this economy. They are asking too much from a federal government that is not functioning at all. I wonder where they expect them to find this money unless they go to China as usual, Nigeria's sugar daddy. Realistically, the demands cannot be met and the government can only pay them part of the money and it will probably be in installments.
If their demands are not met this time I think they will go on a long time strike. Probably the longest in a while. I pray to God that they meet their demands because I cannot stay at home. This is why I said ASUU must be moving mad.
What have they done exactly that has benefited the system? Aren't they only out to enrich their pockets because most of the time their protest is always based on unpaid salaries or increasing their bonuses and allowance. I think that they are personally out for their own selfish interest and do not give a damn about the state of tertiary education in the country. All the time money.
They can't even talk or demand for the rehabilitation of federal universities which are in a terrible state. Most of this universities are full of old and dilapidated structures. Structures that are over 50 years in age and that are on the edge of collapse. The hostels are nothing to write home about. They are such in a terrible condition that even rats decided not to leave their yet they allow students to stay in there. The halls of residence aren't even large enough to accommodate all the students and as such students don't have places to sleep. Even the process of accommodation is a chance for this lecturers to engage in bribery and corruption.
The curriculum of the university is very outdated and the research materials aren't even enough. The materials needed for students to learn and also for academic staffs to conduct research aren't enough or even there. Thus limiting the amount of work they can do and producing half-baked students who contribute little or nothing to the society.
I think ASUU has lost their respect a long time ago. This isn't the union of the 70's, 80's and 90's that fought for the betterment of our university education. All they are after now is what they can get from the government and how long they can keep working so that they can keep earning their salary even in their death bed. It is a wonder why they keep demanding for the extension of the retirement age.
ASUU cannot keep holding the lives of students at ransome. Students all over the country need to do something about this endless and meaningless strikes. We cannot keep wasting our lives and time in the University when we are supposed to be progressing in life. We remain stagnant because of this.
ASUU should let their head be correct and stop moving mad if they know what is good for them. I have other things to do with my life and I want my education done with as soon as possible.
Stories About Fruits (3)
Hello guys. How are you all doing? I now I stopped this series a few days back but I am here to write the third instalment. I started this series about a week ago and I have written two articles on it. So if you haven't read the second or even the first part I implore you to go and read it. It will really help you to put everything into context.
I started writing about fruits so has to bring more awareness on its benefits. I decided to be writing on it bit by bit because I could definitely not finish writing everything in a single article. I am continuing today and we will be talking about two fruits namely; Pawpaw and coconut. Let's start with pawpaw.
Pawpaw is also known as papaya. The plant on which it grows is called Carica papaya. It originated from the Americas specifically central America and southern Mexico. The name of the fruit that grows on the tree can be called pawpaw or papaya depending on certain characteristics. Although in some cases they can be used interchangeably.
A papaya has a sweeter and more tropical flavor when compared to pawpaw. While the pawpaw has a taste comparable to a Banana. Both fruits are very edible and are ripe when it is soft to touch and the skin turns yellow. One advantage is that they can be ripened at room temperature. They are one of the largest edible fruits native to North America.
Pawpaw contains a lot of nutrients such as high level of antioxidants Vitamin A, Vitamin C and Vitamin E. This reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases. It has other numerous nutritional benefits that are helpful to human health.
Personally pawpaw is one of my favorite fruits as it is so easy to eat and digest because of it's softness. I don't like it being too soft because then it will be yucky. I like it midway between soft and hard. I also like the ones that are just starting to ripen, when it is still predominantly yellow in color with little orange. They are like large snacks and so crunchy. I think you guys should try it one of this days.
But a major disappointment with the fruit is that it ripens quickly and easily gets soft over time. So you need to know when it is ripe and eat it as soon as possible to prevent spoilage or insects attacking it.
We then have the coconut. Coconut is a very popular fruit particularly in beach resorts and luxurious locations. It is common to see celebrities drinking from a coconut while resting under an umbrella on a sunny day.
Coconut is a very versatile fruit. You can drink the water inside it since it is full of nourishment. You can also remove it's hard shell and eat the white fruit inside of it. It can also be broken into two and serve as a cup for your drinks. You can put in a straw and make the whole experience look exotic.
The fruit is chewy especially when you have a set of strong teeth but the taste is good especially when it is ripe. The water in it is also sweetened and I think I prefer it to natural water. I like to drink it whenever I am about to break the coconut.
It is the fruit of the coconut palm and it is used for it's water, milk and oil. That's why you hear of coconut milk, coconut oil and coconut water. They are all processed from the fruit. The coconut oil is used as a cream for the hair as it nourishes the skin. The milk can also be used as a substitute for cow milk.
I personally like coconut chips and I eat it almost everyday. It is so crunchy and sweet at the same time. The only sad part is that they package it in small quantities and sell it at high prices. In fact the prices just keep going up every passing day.
I have a tree of the fruit growing in my backyard and I harvest coconut from it almost everyday weekend. I even have more than I need and give to anybody that asks. I think I might be getting bored of the fruit.

Footballers and Domestic Violence
Just last week the footballing world was shocked at the news of Manchester United star Mason Greenwood being involved in a domestic violence scandal. He was said to have physically abused his 18 year old girlfriend and also attempted to rape her.
The pictures surfaced earlier this week on social media and football enthusiast as well as the whole world were horrified by the gory images they saw. Their were pictures and also audio recording of things that had happened. The woman claimed that she had been abused by the football Star and also followed it with pictures as evidence.
This was really damaging for the football player as his career took a drastic turn. Because of what had happened he was sent out of the club pending the investigation. He was unfollowed by his fellow teammates on Instagram. Most of them if not all unfollowed him including Cristiano Ronaldo. His jersey was removed from the club stores and fans could exchange the ones of him that they already had for another one. If you search for his name on the clubs official website for their store it would bring out no result.
He has been removed from and advertisment involving Cadbury and Nike have suspended their agreement with him. Even Manchester United shirt sponsor (Team Viewer) are concerned about the whole situation. All in all, all major brands and organisations have disassociated themselves from him.
He was arrested by the police and was in jail for three days before he was granted bail. He has been in his house ever since and has infact boosted his security.
This is a really damaging move for the player as his young career is spiralling downwards. He is young at just 20 years of age and this is already happening to him. He is not the first player to be accused of rape and domestic violence as countless of other players have been accused of such. Players like Neymar, Ronaldo, Benjamin Mendy and even coaches such as Ryan Giggs.
Football really has it's own share of controversy. Numerous players have done things that are not proper, that someone of their stature shouldn't be doing. Some of them are cheating on their wives or girlfriends. It is really hard to find a faithful footballer. In fact it is hard to find a faithful celebrity. Most of them are known to be unfaithful as their lifestyle gives them that opportunity.
They are on the move all the time and rarely get to see their loved ones. They are in a new city almost every week and almost never settle down except they are on a long-term injury. This encourages to engage in unscrupulous activities as no one is around to catch them.
They earn a lot of money and have little or no financial responsibility as they are still young. This gives them the opportunity to blow or waste their money on parties and in clubs. Spending it lavishly on houses and cars and not forgetting women. Literally, they can get any woman that they want since they have so much money.
Making a lot of money at such a young age leads them to making bad decisions. They are still growing and as such not yet wise. Most of them do not think of life after retirement but only think of now. They have a lot of wealth and as such think they can do whatever they want without the repercussions. They feel big and become proud thinking that they are on top of the world. This is totally wrong.
No matter who you are, you are not above the law. You might be doing something perhaps in secret but one day it will come out. That is why most of the allegations against players come months or maybe years later. They think that they've gotten away with it but it comes back to hunt them. Their reckless and carefree lifestyle has gotten them into trouble.
A number of this players weren't raised in good homes or were not even raised under a roof at all and as such nobody was around to inculcate the right values in them. They leave questionable lifestyles and then pay for it letter on.
Footballers need to learn from Mason Greenwood experience and live better lives. They need to start making the right choices so that their career no matter how young it may be won't come crashing down. They need to know and do better. The choices you make affect your life and the lives of people around you.
I am still following the story and I wonder where it will take us to but all in all I hope the truth prevails.
Barcelona January Transfer Window Part 2
This is a continuation of my previous article. I will suggest that you go to my page to check it out. It will help you to understand and follow my article well.
Yesterday, I started with Dani Alves and Ferran Torres. Today I will continue with Adama Traore and Perrire-Emerick Aubamayang.
Adama Traore is a Spanish professional football. In fact he was born in the city of Barcelona. The hospital in which he was given birth to is just a 15 minute walk away from the Camp Nou Barcelona home stadium. He started out at the La Masia Barcelona youth academy and made his debut for the first team on November 23, 2013. He left the club shortly after. He left Barcelona for Aston Villa in the summer of 2015. He there after had stints at Middlesbrough where he played with Martin Braithwaite and then he joined Wolverhampton Wanders.
He joined Barcelona this January on an initial 6 month loan deal with an option to make it a permanent deal in the summer. He plays as a winger but can also play in a wing back position. He is fast and can dribble past players easily. He is like a more muscular version of Dembele.
Talking about his muscularity, he is totally shredded and buff. The sight of him terrifies most defenders. He is strong fast and can dribble, the textbooks winger. He is still rough around the edges but he has a lot of potentials if nurtured under the right conditions.
He has a lot to offer to the club and I can't wait to see what he has in stock for Barcelona fans. All things being well, he should perform excellent well and give Barcelona a chance to reach the top four and also win the Europa League. For all we know he might just be our wildcard.
There is something strange or should I say odd about him. Before he comes on, he rubs baby oil on his arms. He says that it makes it difficult for defenders to get a grip on him when he is running thus he escapes from them easily leaving them stranded.
In conclusion, he is a very good buy and one of the impressive deals we've made. I might have my reservations about him particularly his goal returns but let's see how his signing turns out.
The last but definitely not the least is Aubamayang. He was our deadline day transfer. Like we signed him on the last day. I remember that day, through out the month there had been rumors linking him to Barcelona but as usual they just remained rumors. It was towards the end of the month that the transfer started to look visible. The club original wanted Alvaro Morata (who is on loan at Juventus from Athletico Madrid) but that wasn't looking like it was going to happen particularly because Athletico demands were unreasonable.
The club then had to shift their attention to their second option Aubamayang. The player was not wanted at Arsenal again after falling out with his coach and the club hierarchy. In fact he blamed his coach for the fact that he had to leave his club in the manner that he did. Barcelona say this as an opportunity and thereby capitalized on it. It was a smart deal as the player signed a three and half year deal with the club. His astronomical wages at his former club were drastically reduced in other to accommodate the transfer.
The whole business seemed weird as the deal wasn't announced until three days after the transfer window had closed. He even trained with the club before the announcement. I guess the reason why this happened was because of some unfinished paperwork.
He is a good player and especially a great number nine. One of the best of his generation if I might add. He has played in France, Germany, Italy, England and now Spain. At the age of 32 he has tons of experience behind him. He particularly shined at Borrussia Dortmund winning the Bundesliga player of the year. He also played so well at Arsenal that he was even given a new contract worth £300,000 per week.
Even though he might be hold, he still has something to offer and I think he is going to perform well at Barcelona. I can't say if it was a good transfer until I see how his career at the club turns out but since he was giving a short time contract I can say it was an okay business.
So that's all about Barcelona transfer activities in January. I hope the new signings perform at the club and not just become flops like our previous signings.
Barcelona January Transfer Window
The January window closed just a few days ago and like every other transfer window it was full of movement of players and coaches from one club to another. Although it wasn't as eventful as everyone expected partly due to the impact of the pandemic on the finances of big clubs, there was still up some movement no matter how it might have been.
There are two transfer seasons in football, one in the summer and one in the winter ( which is referred to as the January transfer window). The winter transfer season is usually less active than the summer transfer season because most clubs like to buy players at the end of the season not when the season is midway. So buying players at that time isn't particularly good business because they haven't had time to integrate into the club and only a handful of them ever perform well.
Today I will be talking about my club activities during this transfer window. I am sure that it is common knowledge that I support FC Barcelona and I have been supporting them since my childhood years. I have been with the club through ups and downs as everyone good fan should. I have supported them through thick and thin. I am still supporting them through the rough patch we are currently growing through.
The club is financially broke as the whole world knows and as such we didn't have any financial might going into the transfer window. This resulted in us going for players that are below our standard. Players we wouldn't normally go for all because we didn't have the money.
But surprisingly, we shocked everybody. We were the most active club through out the whole period. We were second in the ranking of the clubs that spent the most during the transfer season. Even with the state of our finance we were able to improve our squad quality.
I am here to talk about the businesses we made and where it was good or bad, necessary or unnecessary.
We brought in a total of four players in January. Three on a permanent deal and one on loan to the end of season with an option to buy. We got Dani Alves, Ferran Torres, Adama Traore and Perrire-Emerick Aubamayang.
Dani Alves had been signed since November but he couldn't be registered or brought into the club until January. He came on as a free transfer because he is a free agent. He is a very old player. Playing at the age of 38. He was the club former right back and he left a few years back. He only came because we didn't have the right players in that position. None of them were just good enough. So we brought him in so that he could help out in that position and also teach the younger generation how to play football the Barca way.
All I can say is that he was only brought him because of the relationship between him and the coach. Just sentiments. He doesn't make sense in anyway unless you think of it that way. Like why would you bring a 38 year old to play football. He just shows how desperate Barcelona has become especially in that right back position that has plagued us for years ever since Dani Alves left. So in summary it wasn't a good piece of business.
The next player we got was Manchester City star Ferran Torres. Honestly this was good business and we bought him for a reasonable amount of money which is 55 million euros. Not a bad amount for a player of his quality. He wasn't getting enough game time at his former club and he wanted to come to Barcelona so the move was a no brainer.
He is an excellent player with great attacking prospects. He is a player that is achieving great things at such a young age and he is certainly one for the future. He will add a lot of attacking quality to our squad and will cause problems for the defense of the opposition. He can play as a nine, false nine and winger. He also has an eye for goal.
He is young so still has time on his hands and can do so much more. He is certainly part of the long time plans for the club. He might have come into the club injured but he is already back on his feet and hitting the ground running. He already has a goal to his name and I am sure he will nicely link up with the rest of the attack.

Adulthood is a Scam
I am sure you're thinking that I'm pained right now and you're definitely right. The title looks like what a pained person would write and that's true. Not to mince words I was deceived or I let myself to be deceived. Adulthood is not easy at all and it takes a lot to pass through this stage of life. In today's article I will be talking about some of the difficulties of being an adult and how we were all scammed.
Adulthood is not easy at all and to all the adults out there keep on pushing all your hard work will pay off one day. The hustle as they say is real. Being an adult is one of the most difficult things in the world. The responsibilities are so enormous not forgetting the financial ones.
From the moment a child is born and is growing they as aspire to be a fully grown adult one day. When growing up they see the adults around them as big strong people who can face anything in the world. If only they knew the truth.
I personally when growing up couldn't wait to clock 18 and be regarded as an adult even though that isn't how things work in a Nigerian home, you still have to grow older a pass through some certain things before you are regarded as such. I dreamt of ways I will use my freedom to go anywhere, do anything I want without a single soul questioning me. I thought it was heaven on earth. How wrong was I.
I didn't know what it means to be an adult. What it entails and what you have to grow through. The responsibilities, pain, suffering and bills. It takes a lot for somebody or even anybody to grow through this. So I was wrong all along, I only saw the good part and not the whole picture. I let myself to be deceived. Being an adult is a lot more than what I thought.
This doesn't mean that there aren't the good sides of it. There is the feeling of joy, happiness, fulfilment and love that come with the experience. It is not all doom and gloom. There are happy moments that will be encountered such as falling in love, marriage, child birth, getting a good job and achieving a lifetime goal. It is just a combination of both, the good, bad and ugly. There will be ups and downs but in all enjoy the experience because that is just life.
I think I may have deviated from the title of the article a bit so let me get back on track.
The reason why I said being an adult is a scam is because I wasn't ready for the things that come with it particularly the bills. So it is my bad and my problem to deal with. I was not prepared at all. What even got me talking about it was the amount of money I had spent by just going out in the space of two days. I hadn't budgeted for it at all and I was already running low on cash.
I had spent a reasonable amount of money on transportation and food and it was from there I realized that eating outside is very expensive. Even just going outside your house is expensive. It is like the world wants to take the little money you have outside. Even the money I spend on mobile data is already choking me maybe I should stay offline for a month. Just joking but seriously I don't think I can take it anymore. I have spent way too much money for someone who's only source of income is asking his father for money and when I don't get it I will be in a financial quagmire.
In short you start to feel the effect of your spending when you have a limited amount of it for a specific time.
Also the stress is out of this world. At this stage of your life if you want to get something done you have to do it yourself, you can not be relying on your parents for everything. You have to grow up and do your things yourself. Nobody is going to help you. You face the consequence of your decisions whether good or bad and I think this is where most youths and teenagers get it wrong. The decisions you make right now actually affect your future.

In summary, adult hood na scam. To me the disadvantages outweigh the advantages particularly in my country where everything is out to get you. Stories About Fruits (2)
I started this series yesterday and it has been enlightening to say the list. I have received amazing feedbacks from different people on the article. It has really been encouraging. Today I am here to continue on the series as I still have some notable fruits on my mind.
I will start with pineapple. Pineapple is a tropical plant and the most important member of the plant family Bromeliaceae. Don't let the name deceive you it is neither a pine nor an apple but a fruit made of many berries that have grown together and fused into one fruit.
It is a know fact that pineapples should be careful handled or touch because of the dangerous spikes on its body. If a person isn't careful enough, it can cut through the skin thereby resulting in bleeding. I have even experienced this before. When harvesting also, it should be carefully removed from the soil and gloves should be worn when handling the fruit.
It is a nice fruit with different tastes when eaten. The first one noticed is the sweetness immediately after that is the sourness and then if it isn't too ripe you will feel like a itching sensation on your tongue and if the pineapple touched your face on the way to your mouth that part will itch you also.
When I eat the fruit I try to avoid those tiny sharp holes, I don't like to eat them. I like to eat the yellow fleshy part only.
Then, we also have the cucumber. Cucumber is regarded as a vegetable but today I will talk about it as a fruit. It is a long green lean garden vegetable with with small white seeds. It belongs to the family cucurbitaceae, a family consisting of vine plants that bear cylindrically shaped fruits. It is a very popular nutritious fruit that can be used for a variety of dishes.
That is what makes cucumber very popular. It can be eaten alone. It can be eaten with any kind of salad as it adds color to it. You can practically eat it with any food you make such as rice, noodles, pasta and so on. It adds a green natural color to any food.
I particularly like to take it with my salad and I make sure that anytime I am preparing salad the cucumber is a constituent of it. I also like eating it alone as I like to take some green with my meal.
The vegetable can easily be found in any market and is a very common fruit in my country. Though some people use it for some infamous purposes. If you want to know it go and meet your girlfriend.

Stories About Fruits
Today we will be taking about fruits. Now, you might be wondering what I have to write about fruits since there are many things I could possibly talk about. I could talk about their history, how they were named, there health and nutritional benefits and so on. But today I will just be telling you stories or interesting facts about certain fruits and why you should certainly try them.
Let's start with orange and from there we move into the citrus family. Orange is a very popular fruit around the world. It is particularly common in my country as you can find it almost everywhere. Just go to the nearest fruit selling Hausa man, you will find it there.
I personally like the way they cut their oranges. They use a special knife which makes the cutting easier. The knife sorts of trim the green skin of the orange away making the surface a mixture of green and white. When dividing it, they don't cut it into two equal parts. They cut a small head and then leave a large bottom.
Oranges are sweet and nutritious fruits when ripe and you will definitely enjoy them. Like what's not to enjoy in it. After sucking the juice in it, you can turn it inside out and eat the yellow part leaving the orange body and if you want you can plant the seeds and grow your own orange tree.
There are of course other members of the citrus family like lemons, grape, limes and pomelos. I think you should try them out. I personally do not like lemons and limes because they are sour and I like sweet things but I do like grapes particularly store bought ones. I do not know much about pomelos so I can't talk about it but one of this days I will try it out.
One fruit I can't but just talk about is Tangerine. I know it is not a member of the citrus family but one of it's hybrids or varieties (a good one at that) but it is such an important part of the family. Tangerine is a small sweet orange that is a variety of mandarin orange. It got it's name from it's place of origin in Tangier, Morocco.
Tangerine is one of my favorite fruit and it definitely ranks among my top five. It's sweetness is beyond this world. The fact that you can just easily peel it a pick it one by one and put in your mouth is what makes it wonderful. I don't think there is anyone here that hasn't tried it. It is that amazing.
Watermelon is another popular fruit where I'm from. Whoever has said that they haven't eaten this fruit is definitely a liar and you should run away from them (just joking though). This is another amazing fruit. Do you know that watermelon consist mainly of water? Of course you do because when you're eating it, it will be as if you're drinking water. It consists of 92% of water. The other 8% is what you eat.
When I was young, for some weird reasons I liked eating watermelon seeds and my sister didn't like that so she came up with a crazy story to stop me. She said that if I continued to eat the seeds that a watermelon tree will grow inside my stomach. I was scared and terrified. I wondered what will happen to me after so many watermelon seeds. I was petrified and from then on I stopped eating it. Years later I found out the truth and I am sure my sister must have been glad that her plan was achieved. Moral of the story don't have mischievous sisters.
But that doesn't take anything away from the fruit. It is still an amazing and delicious fruit that everyone should try once in a while, you would not regret it. In my country you can find it in almost every local market with your friendly Hausa man selling it. It is relatively cheap and affordable.

The Induction
Hello everyone. How are you doing? It has been a long time since I last wrote an article and I am sorry about that. I have been very busy all through the week and also stressed out that is why I haven't written in a while. But today, I decided that I must write and publish an article regardless of how busy I might be and I think I have kept my word.
The reason why I chose today's article was because of the event I attended yesterday. My brother was being inducted into the Engineering profession specifically the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE for short). For those who don't know the meaning of induction, it means that you are now a recognized member who has passed all possible requirements of a professional body. It could be a body of doctors, engineers or economist. Generally any profession.
There are still some other things to do before you can practice such as writing an exam or training for a required number of years but all in all it is still something big to be inducted.
But some people still mistake induction for graduation or convocation. Convocation means that you are graduating from the University and know you're a graduate of whatever degree you were studying. So in Induction, you are a member of the professional body while in graduation/convocation you are leaving the University with your degree it could be a bachelor of science, masters or even PhD. So I hope you get it now if you didn't understand it before.
As usual it was a big event and everyone who was somebody in the Engineering profession came for the event. The so called bigwigs and important people in the university were in attendance. The whole venue was filled with people to the brim. Students, lecturer, parents and guardian, friends, university staffs and engineering professional were the people in attendance.
It was a wonderful event as students who did well in their respective department were recognized and rewarded for their efforts. My brother was one of them emerging as the best in his department (petroleum engineering). My department, Electrical and Electronics engineering had the overall best student. That is not a surprise as we boast of some of the brightest and smartest students in the Faculty of Technology.
It was generally a colourful event and everyone were all smiles. Friends and family taken pictures with the inductees and sharing in their joy. The former freshers were all over social media posting pictures of their seniors in their academic gown and helmet celebrating with them and also congratulation them. It could be seen all over their WhatsApp status. I think the most posted person was the TESA president, turns out he has a lot of fans among the freshers.
The inductees were dressed to kill, looking sharp in their suits and blazers. The men dressed smartly looking good and the ladies surely did not disappoint especially this one.
I think I have fallen for her already.
It was a really grand event and once they were done after 3 long hours, the celebrants proceeded to their respective receptions. It was time to celebrate their achievements.
Most parents went all out in celebrating them. The reception was done under canopies in the faculty as it was close the venue and it has been a tradition overtime. There were elaborate decorations, plenty to eat and drink and their was even small chops to wet your appetite. Not forgetting entertainment in the form of music. It was really a joyful affair.
They took pictures with one another to capture the moment and photographers had a field day as everyone were taken pictures. For our own, we got decorations and hired a photographer to take our pictures. The food were in take away packs as we did not want people together to obey the COVID-19 safety protocol. We also gave them souvenirs as they were leaving. We had a lot of guests and almost ran out of food. God knows what would have happened if we gave every student that came to us.
As usual a lot of students came as it is a tradition for them to go from one tent to another requesting for food to celebrate with them. I think it is a tradition that needs to be stopped and I will probably write an article on it one of this days.
It's kinda of messed up.
In summary, everything went according to plan even though there were some bumps on the way. I am happy for my brother and it is good that we got to celebrate him. It is no mean feat. I guess it remains only me in school. Finally.
It is nice to have finally written an article and hopefully I will create more time for it.

We Need Nicer Healthcare Workers
I think the title is pretty direct and will define how this article goes on. I decided to make it really direct and straightforward because it is a matter of urgency if we want to help lives.
I decided to write on it because everyday it is becoming increasingly concerning and also disheartening. I went to a clinic recently and the way they treated people was sad. So I said that I will write on it so that people will be aware of what is going on in our health institutions.
The whole world is going through a ravaging pandemic and that has strained our already weak health care system. Doctors and nurses are going through a lot more than ever before. The veracity of the pandemic might have reduced overtime but that doesn't mean it isn't causing problems. Even in 2022 numerous countries particularly the United States of America are still battling with the virus. Doctors, nurses and even scientist are working harder than ever before. I am saying all of this because I appreciate their efforts and I am not taking anything away from them.
They have really tried by treating numerous sick patients and risking their lives in the process. Some even contracted the virus while treating others. Unfortunately some lost their lives while helping people. This is one of the many sacrifices they make daily for humanity. Like they always say medicine is not to take life, it is to save it.
Even before the pandemic, doctors and other health professionals have been awesome. They have been breaking frontiers in numerous fields such as cancer and sickle cell treatment. In short, I wonder where the world will be without them.
Most of them have been nice towards patients and kind and compassionate. Helping people beyond administering physical treatment but others have been the opposite. There are some of them that aren't kind or nice or compassionate they just do it for what they can get not for impacting and changing lives. This is what is really bothering me.
They are one of the many problems with the health care system. They are one of the major reasons that people detest going to the hospital. They literally make life difficult for people. Let me tell you an experience.
In my school, we have a campus clinic where students and lecturers go to whenever they do not feel well. It was established so that people can easily get treatment there instead of going to a general hospital and they also provide services there at a discounted rate.
So that is where most students go to whenever they are sick but the service there is extremely poor. The nurses there are nothing short of wicked and the doctors are extremely lazy and nonchalant. It is not like they do not pay them their salary or they are working under terrible conditions, they just have a poor attitude to work.
Numerous students have gone there and have complained about them but till today nothing has been done about it. Because of this most students if not all have resorted to self medication and go to the nearest chemist to procure drugs. This is dangerous especially for our youths because if they begin like this it wouldn't take long before it results into drug addiction.
I personally have gone there when I was ill and I regretted it. I waited for hours under the heat of the sun outside with no canopy covering my head for the doctor to attend to me. Funnily enough, the doctor wasn't even around and the nurses came up with a shameless excuse that most of their doctors had run away. Why wouldn't they?
I had to wait outside because of the Covid restrictions which I taught was nonsense because no one in the school had tested positive for the virus in months. In short, I wasted my time there and I wasn't attended to at all. I had to resort to self medication because I had no other choice.
The workers there were not even sympathetic to our conditions. I wonder how they would have felt if that was their children or family. A bunch of heartless people. I am just saying that a lot of people in the health care system need to change their attitude to work and people. They need to improve on their social skills. It is not enough to have the knowledge, your approach on how to solve the problem matters.
We still have a long way to go and I hope this pandemic has taught us that. We need each other in other to grow and thrive and everyone should have the right attitude.
Those are just my two cents and I hope you were able to understand where I was coming from. I just needed to talk about it.

Long Church Services
As you can see from the title, I'm here to talk or should I say complain about long Church services especially the ones in my country. I would not write this article under normal circumstances but after what I went through two days ago in church, I can't but rant. It was torture.
Okay, I might be exaggerating but it wasn't a pleasant experience either. All I can say is that it was unnecessarily prolonged which I can say about church services in Nigeria. The long praise and worship sessions, the extended prayers and the boringly long sermons. I think church services are a sought of festival.
I wonder why they can't be straight to the point so that everyone can get on with their life. I always picture a program where they start on time with no delay whatsoever. The praise and worship sessions is short but beneficial where songs that are edifying and based on the word of God are sang and not just any song that comes to the lips. Where the sermon should be the most important part of the service.
I think this is where most churches get it wrong. They focus on all other parts of the service but forget the main reason why people come to church which is to hear and listen to the word of God. We all know when it pertains to this, there is always a difference between hearing and listening.
The sermon should be the longest time of the service but it shouldn't be unnecessarily long so that it doesn't become a repetition of words and points. It could easily become the pastor saying the same thing over and over again and if you're lucky in different ways.
The sermon should be based on God's word and nothing else so as to prevent heresy. Everyone should bring out a pen and jotter to write one or two things down and be in the right attitude, willing to learn. No one can remember everything and as such a believer should write things down so as to revert back to them incase they forget. At the end everyone should have something they have gained so that it wouldn't have been a waste of time on both the part of the pastor and the members.
And then the offering, announcements and the grace should be taken quickly. Just like that we are done with service for the day and we can all go on with the rest of our day. I know that this doesn't usually happen because there are some other things that may have been planned but does it need to be done on a Sunday service, can't it be done on any other day. There are a lot of things to be put in place for something like this to happen and a lot of priorities to be set a right but maybe one day this will be a reality.
I can say for a fact that long services do not benefit anyone particularly children and teenagers. You can go to most churches in Nigeria and you will see that barely one hour after the start of service, teenagers are already loitering around. Now imagine if the service goes on for over three hours. Probably more than half the church would have left already except if you have very loyal members. Even adults would have started leaving.
This was what kind of started happening just two days ago in church. I think they were doing ordination of deacons, that's like commissioning or bringing in a new set of deacons into the church. I am not going to lie, the service was long and boring and where I sat wasn't particularly comfortable. At some point I was tired and tried to sleep but I couldn't. At this point I was already becoming visibly irritated. I tried calling my dad that maybe we should start leaving because I don't know when they plan to end this service but unfortunately he didn't pick my call. I just gave up. Thank God at some point I just slept off and when I woke up they were already sharing the grace. When the recessional hymn was being sang I picked up my Bible and left.
I know what I did wasn't the right attitude to the things of God but if you were there you would understand. The organisers didn't even try to rush when they saw they were out of time. They just continued the service at their own pace.
The sad part for me was that I hadn't eaten in the morning and I was very hungry so that just made things worse. Thank God they finally finished and I hurried back home to eat like a mad man.
In summary, certain churches need to set their priorities aright particularly the old generation churches. They need to stop unnecessary ceremonies and focus on the more important things. This will be mutually beneficial for everyone. Also everyone goes home blessed and edified from God's word.

My Day At The Supermarket
Hey guys, I am here to tell you about my day at the supermarket. It isn't going to be like any other story or day and I will try to make it as interesting as possible. My day has nothing been short of stressful and hectic but thank God I was able to achieve what I set out to do.
By the way the Twitter ban in my country got lifted just two days ago so I have mixed feelings about. Well for one I am happy that it has finally been lifted and we can all use the app without the stress of using a VPN. It is not convenient for me to be turning it on anytime I want to use the bird app and also because of the enormous amount of mobile data it consumes. So bye bye to the use of VPN. On the other hand I am disappointed with the government of my country that they even banned the app in the first place. Like what was going on in that crazy mind of theirs.
Well I hope they change even though I doubt that. They always have an ulterior motive anytime they actually do something for the benefits of the citizens. Probably because of the incoming elections is why they lifted the ban. Hopefully, things get better in this country.
Sorry for ranting, I just had to say something on this topic since it is such a big and contentious issue in my country. Now back to my day at the supermarket.
I wasn't even sure if I was going today because we hadn't discussed it the day before but I was told in the morning that I will be going and as such I should prepare. I hurriedly had my bath and got dressed so that I could get a free ride to the supermarket courtesy of my dad. He could only drop me at the bus top as he was heading in a different direction and gave me transport fare for the reminder of my journey.I took a direct can to my destination and arrived in no time. Thank God there wasn't any traffic gridlock on my way.
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic they had to control the number of people that can enter at any point in time. The discovery of a new variant in the country didn't help matters as they were stricter this time around. This means that a lesser number of people were allowed in. Those of us who couldn't enter with them were forced to wait for nothing less than an hour for them to finish shopping so that we can enter. The wait was treacherous and it felt like I was waiting for eternity. I sat down hoping that I wouldn't spend too long, how wrong I was.
I listened to some music, checked all my social media handles (Whatsapp, Instagram and even Twitter). Read and replied messages that I hadn't responded to in a long while. When I was done I played a couple of games and watched some funny videos by comedians just to keep my brain busy. When I had done all that I could possibly think of, I got tired. Boredom finally set in and I was starting to get a bit irritated. Like, why was I waiting so long to buy provisions and not like I was going to buy the whole world. I also wondered what was the essence of the whole vaccination campaign if things won't return to normal.
Finally they let us in and in no particular order. So much for the tally I collected. I quickly entered so as to get my shopping done as fast as possible. I got a shopping cart and started putting the things I wanted to buy one by one. I used the provisions list as a guide and it made my work easier and faster. There were somethings that I didn't write but when I saw them on the shelf I knew I had to get them. I was done in 25 minutes and I think that was pretty fast for what I was buying.
The next problem was the long queue at the payment point. The queues were longer than the ones you would find at bank ATM's. Come to think of it, I think I spent more time waiting to pay than waiting to enter. Things like this is making to start to hate that particular supermarket. I waited for like an hour just to pay and I did that standing, nowhere to sit. The people in front of me were incredibly slow and I think the shop attendant must have been the descendant of a sloth. The people that were behind me were even more irritated than I was. After some time I was attended to and payed. I then drove my cart to the packaging section.
Thank heavens that they didn't frustrate my life here. It didn't take long before I was attended to and my goods checked and packaged. This was the only section of the supermarket were they were swift and orderly. I had to carry my load by myself and I was kind of disappointed with them in that respect. They should hire someone to do that. I called them that I was done and they should come and pick me up. Not long after they came and then we left.
Overall my day at the supermarket wasn't a pleasant one and they have a lot of things to work on if not they will experience a decrease in patronage. Also they need to improve on their customer services and teach their staffs how to treat customers especially the loyal ones. I would definitely not be looking forward to another day like that and I hope that is my first and last time there.

Students and Books
Hello everyone. I know I haven't been present lately here on read cash but that is due to some unforseen circumstances. I have been really busy since the beginning of the week and not had time to engage articles here. But that doesn't mean I don't come here once in a while, it is just that my engagement is limited.
Let's leave all that and focus on today's article. I am here to talk about a topic you guys will know all too well about, Students and Books. Some students like book others not so much but a majority of students don't like book as much as they don't like school because it just doesn't interest them.
Out educational system is centred around reading and there is no classroom that you would go to that you wouldn't see books. Most if not all of the time their teachers or lectures teach them by reading from a book or telling them to. So basically you spend the entire day reading or listening to someone reading.
But that doesn't mean the students just have a theory knowledge as some schools take them through the practical. Practical is especially good as it gives the student an hands on knowledge on a certain topic so as to tackle real life problems. So reading isn't just everything as you also need the practical knowledge also.
I am here to talk about the relationship between students and their books. Using my school as an example I can say for a fact that students love their books. Reading all through the day and night. Even during the break they still open their books to prepare for the next academic session. We are on break right now and some students have almost finished the entire syllabus. I don't trust those kind of people because they can sly you in life. When they should be relaxing in the holiday they are busy reading. Sly.
But this doesn't capture the situation on all Universities campus as not all group of students are the same. Like my school is the best in the country, the first and best and as such the competition to gain admission into the school is tight. This means that only the brightest and smartest students in the country gain admission into certain courses because the cut off mark is high. This is why most students like reading in my school because it is the ones that like book that enter.
Like I said earlier this isn't always the case. I know of some schools also where are they couldn't care less about their academics. They care more about parties, girls/guys, drugs, money and sports. This is what they spend their time all and their lecturers do not care. They are just collecting salary for nothing and some of them even collect bribes from their students to improve their academics. Others even demand romantic relationships from their female students in other for them to pass their course. This is really sad and disheartening.
In the beginning of my article I said that most students do not like books or do not like reading and I am here to tell you why.
**They are not interested in school**: This is the bitter truth that parents do not want to hear. Teenagers and youths nowadays are seeing there are other opportunities outside school and white collar jobs. You don't necessarily have to go to school to make it in life as before. You can have a talent or a skill that you are very good at and monetize it. It is what athletes, musicians and artisans do. They have no formal education and are still good at what they do, that's because they've honed their skills over time.
This encourages students coupled with the fact that they spend years in school especially the productive years of their life learning something that they wouldn't use in the real world. Like who is ever going to use the Quadratic formula for any real life problem. They just think it is better for them to do something that is beneficial and will help them in the future rather than wasting their time. It is better to start making money at a young age so as to retire early.
**There is no job outside** and as such they are discouraged. After being in school for so many years and finally finishing or graduating there is no job waiting for you, you begin to wonder whether it was all worth it. Whether it was better for you to just drop out and go learn a skill or a trade and start working thereby earning some money. This is done so as to kick start their life early.
It is glaring for all to see that students are beginning not to like school and also not like reading. This isn't an encouraging development and we should do all we can to restore their interest because that's the only way our society can ever move forward. They are the and our future.
