What many people didn't know about me is that I had been running experiments on myself, some of these had spanned decades. Before I go into one of them, I am going to explain my theory. I believe that every hour of the same person varies in levels of intelligence and productivity. One of those factors is tiredness. When you are super tired, you are more prone to mistakes and bad decisions and your IQ drops by half. That hour will produce different outcomes from you being fully awake and alert. Bad decisions can be extremely costly. My experiment goes like this. I sleep only when I am tired (regardless of time). And I work when I am awake (regardless of time). And this experiment started more than 20 years ago. You can imagine how much scolding and criticisms I received and how much obstacles I had to go through over the years for not sleeping at the right time. I sleep the same hours per day as everyone else. However, my waking hours would have higher productivity and allow me to make better decisions. A 1% improvement per day can lead to a 37x improvement over a year. Now imagine 10 years or 20 years.
