Quick Family Weekend Trip

Quickly decided trips or unplanned trips are sometimes one of the most exciting and memorable trips one could have.  There are cases that "planned trips" are not coming to reality because of some circumstances. It is usually named by some as “drawing trips”, these are thought of trips but never done.  But when situation, time and budget permits and there is an opportunity to “GO”, then why not grab?

Last weekend, my family spent a quick trip in Cabuaya, our second home. This time, not with husband only but with the whole family. It was an unplanned trip, we decided to have the travel on the Friday afternoon. And this the reason why I am missing in action for how many days here in read.

Since it was unplanned, Friday in the morning I was still at the office attending a meeting. After the meeting, I hurried back home and prepared for our things. There were also grocery items that needs to be bought so I keep on thinking about it hoping that none will be forgotten.

We left home at around 12:30 noon and arrived at Cabuaya at around 4:00 P.M. Yes that's how long the trip is, Cabuaya is part of Mati City but it is a barangay that you should pass other municipalities for you to reach there. Let me share to you the map.

An hour after we arrived, the kids can't really resist the sea waves and dip themselves in the seawater . We just let them swim and play, afterall it was a long time that we had our Cabuaya trip.

The next day- Saturday, we prepared few recipes for the birthday of my sister-in-law but found out that there are missing ingredients to mention: oil, condiments, all-purpose-cream. Well, these were really not in my mind when preparing the things to be bought while still in the city proper. So, we need to buy from the local store for those ingredients.

The kids spent the whole day playing in the sand, building sand castles, dipping in the sea water, playing with other kids. We also bring them to a small hike because we bring them to a new place where they can swim but they need to pass on rocks for them to go there.

It was indeed a relaxing day, a day which I spent with family. I saw how happy my kids were and they really said that it was a best trip.

Early in the Sunday morning, we went home because we need to attend Church services. We said goodbye to the beautiful, unlimited beach access. Time to go back to our home, time to go back to the reality. The trip was really quick!

Closing Thoughts

Spending time with family is really one of the best activity and a top priority. It is an opportunity of bonding, and it is really worth reminiscing. Seeing our kid's happiness during the trip is really priceless.

On the other hand, though unplanned trips are exciting, but it also has negative sides, to mention, was not able to bring the necessary ingredients for some recipes, it would be better if we buy it in the City, though it is available in the said place but it's expensive and it would really take time to go to a particular store.  I can say that unplanned trips are sometimes more expensive than the planned one.

But again, let us not focus on the negative side, the most important are the memories, the moments that we have created with the family. And we are thankful to the Lord for the opportunity of travel, for the safety trip and for the provision.
