A burglar almost entered our house
I usually wake up at 2:00-3:00 A.M. I think that is my body clock that makes me wake up during this time. Today, I wake up at 3:00 A.M., I turned on my computer and read some updates in this platform and about NFTs and tried to connect remotely with our school enrolment system.
Then I heard an unusual sound. I thought it was just the rats roaming around the jalousie windows, so I just let it pass. But minutes passed, it seems to continue and it's as if someone is doing something in the window. I decided to check. I went to one of our rooms where the sound came from. It was at the back portion of the house. I turned on the lights. And there I saw the figure of the man outside our window. He was naked, with face covered with his shirt trying to open the jalousies.
I immediately shouted "Kawatan!" (Robber!) . I opened our room and shouted to my husband "Migz naay kawatan!"(Migz there is a robber!). My husband woke up from sleep with my two kids and he also shouted "Robber! There is a robber!" and look on the windows and saw a man running from our vicinity. I told my husband not to run after the robber anymore, I don't want worst things to happen.
When we check the window. The burglar manage to get one jalousie.
He also left a knife. He was in a hurry when I shouted and forgot about his knife.
I thank the Lord for the safety He has given us and making me awake that time and manage to notice to robber even before he gets in our house. I could not imagine myself having a face to face with the robber. What if I just continue working on my computer and the robber gets in and I will see him pointing a knife to me and telling me to give to him all my belongings. I would probably be tongue tied. That would be scary. Another what if is, what if I was not awake and he manage to enter our house and enter in our rooms and one of us will wake up and cause a commotion. But indeed God is so good for not letting those what ifs to happen! Praise God!
Now my worry. Yes, I am also an overthinker, a worrier.
What if those robber/s(I am not sure if he was alone) will come back? He already know the vulnerability of our house. Our gates are just made of wood, and he managed to cut one wood for him to enter. Our front windows were made of sliding glass but our back windows were jalousie windows. We have a cheap CCTV (which does not work that time) but it will not even help in catching the robber because their faces are covered.
But, on the other hand, I realized that I have a big God, a great protector. If He was able to spare us today of the danger that robber almost bring our lives. I will claim that He will protect us in the days to come. I am praying that they will no longer come back and bring fear to our household.
Do you also have robbery stories to tell? I would be happy to read. Do you have tips to scare the burglars? I would love to know.
Keep safe everyone and thanks for reading my story.
