The friendship I couldn't ask for more. 💜

“Lots of people want to ride with you in the limo, but what you want is someone who will take the bus with you when the limo breaks down.” — Oprah Winfrey I am actually having a difficulty thinking of an article that I can post here. I do not want it to be just "at least I have something to post", I wanted it to be a good article that if ever someone could read it, they could learn something from it. Because I am a kind of person that believes in the saying that what your reap is what you sow. Meaning, what you just made in minimum will get back to you in minimum. Compared to the things that you are doing with love, will be back to you ten fold. Friendship? Not every one we know can be considered as friends. For some reason, they can be considered as acquaintances. Like you do knew them because of some reasons. But what really a friend means? Searching it in google, I got to have this meaning. "Someone who is a true friend stands up for you. When others try to hurt you emotionally or physically, they do everything they can to make sure you stay safe. They don't care who is trying to harm you; they will defend you anytime, anywhere. If they can help you, they'll do it without reservation or reward.

Why I am saying all of these? It is because after watching a kdrama entitled, "My Country" I just realized that having a genuine friendship with someone is more than a pot of gold. That having that friend mean you have a family, you have a home and you feel you're home. The series actually that I've watched focuses on the two main lead about their friendship. The struggles they have encountered, the sacrifices they made, having in a decision that you can't think of doing so, and losing someone you treasure the most because you need to do so. The ending is quite irony, it is beautiful yet sad. Why so? Both of them died, but they died with dignity, they died after they reached their goal, they died to make other safe, and they died for them to be with someone they love in heaven. For me, it was such a wonderful ending. I know it is irony, but again it is.

Why this article and not the other way around? It is because, I realized that we need to be good as much as we can to the people around us. To those who consider us as their true friend. To those who we consider as a friend. And to those, who is with us from the beginning. While working here in Cebu, I did not expected to have someone I can really lean on. But again, it was the other way around. I got to meet this person at work. She is Lyn, by the way. I wanted to let you know her name. She's really one of a kind person. I do love and treasure her that much. She is the person I can consider as the bestest best friend I could ever had. I know she is only one. For me, it is the quality not the quantity. Through thick and thin, we are supporting each other. We shared the same laughter, we shared the same sadness, we shared the same pain. We are most likely sisters. One situation I cannot forgot doing with her, we both working as a Call Center Agent, and yes we are both breadwinners. Our payday is actually every 10th and 25th of the month. As far as I can remember, it was two days before our payday and we experienced this "tingbits" thing which means our allowance for 15 days already run out and we have nothing in our pocket. And that was very sad. On that same day, we need to go to work but in a different shift. She will be going to work at 8:00 PM while me at 4:00 AM. Actually from our home to our workplace is quite far, but we can still go there with just walking but again it is bearable.

Since we really do not have left allowance anymore, I decided to go to work just walking from home to my work place. It saddens her knowing that it will be dawn and quite dangerous. What she did was, she looked at her bag and saw there exactly 8.00 pesos which is only enough fare for one person. Instead of her using it for a jeepney ride going to work at 8:00 PM, she gave it to me as it will be more dangerous to walk at dawn than at 8:00 PM. The situation made me left in tears. I cannot believe I have her in life. I cannot believe she will sacrifice walking to work and gave me the 8.00 pesos that she could have used. This may be nothing for others, but it means more than anything to me. She was there when I have everything, and she remained to me when I have nothing. And that was more than enough. And that when I realized, I really have someone I can lean on. I have a friend that can run to, a shoulder to cry on, and a person I can share my success and happiness with. Having her as a friend, I couldn't ask for more. She is more than enough. I am proud of her. Here's my take, if you do not have someone like Lyn, be the one. And as the dau goes by, you will realized you will be surrounded with amazing people.
