🧦 On 16 February, the price of the Unisocks token (SOCKS) issued as a joke by the Uniswap exchange topped $90,000. Unisocks are 500 meme tokens backed by real socks. The decentralised exchange issued them in May 2019, valuing them at 35 ETH. Subsequently, the rising cost of ether and the limited supply of SOCKS pushed the price up - by today, only 314 pairs of these tokens remain, with a combined value of $20 million at the current price of $62,000. Tokens can be returned to the pool at any time. Buying a token entitles you to one pair of socks - they will be delivered anywhere in the world. #Cryptocurrency
