Mel Gibson and director Richard Donner (who passed away in July 2021 at the age of 91) have been working on a sequel to the cult action film Lethal Weapon for the past few years, and according to Deadline, Gibson has no intention of stopping and is ready to take over as director of the 5th film of the franchise, releasing it in memory of Donner. The first film about the adventures of detectives Martin Riggs and Roger Merto was released in 1987, and the last, (4th) i was released in 1998. #movies
