They steal the eggs or larvae of small ants from neighboring colonies, and then either eat those ants or force them to work whole. 6) Ants are engaged in agriculture Man is not the only one who is engaged in agriculture. Some species of ants have been shown to grow their own plants for food. They are mostly mushrooms. 7) Ants can carry a load 50 times heavier than themselves Ants have a special body structure and muscles that allow them to lift loads 50 times heavier than themselves.
