Swans (lat. Cygnus) are called a genus of birds from the order of ducks. Within the order of ducklings, swans are part of the goose subfamily. The genus Olor, which is no longer recognized, once formed the genus Cygnus tribus in the duck family. The species Olor cygnus is today called Cygnus cygnus (Linnaeus, 1758), and Olor buccinator - buccinator Richardson, 1832
