Cypress, the common name of the genus Cupressus, is a tree that usually grows in warm regions, develops quickly and can reach a height of about 20 m, with an approximate tree diameter of about 60 cm. In East and South Africa, as well as in New Zealand, cypress is grown for commercial purposes. Certain types of cypress are popular as an ornamental tree for parks and gardens throughout Europe, and in Asia next to Buddhist temples.
