Sinful, not a mistake!
With the anger this topic seems to stir up in me, I can't help but say it's not a mistake, but a deliberate inhumane action predicated on what I've come to call the human selfish desire to put its pleasure and itself above everything else.
This topic actually hit me in church today, when our pastor was preaching. I really don't understand how people come about having unwanted children, it's beyond me actually, considering it's not like there are a thousand different ways to come to forming a child.
We live in a world where we have to compete for every single resource, even something as abundant as water is being competed for in many parts of our world today. I expect that as a reasonable human being in such a harsh world, before you engage in an act that will lead to pregnancy/childbirth, you ought to have acquired enough of these resources to cater for this child over her early days up till her teenage years at the very least.
Teenage years is me putting it nicely. It's not a crime to care for your child till old age if you want to. Bottom line is care until they decide they are ready to begin their journey in life. These days parents are quick to send their children off into life ready or not. Well, this is a topic for another day!
Every child has a right to a good life till they attain a certain age that's mostly determined by the norms and culture of the society they are born in, rather than the laws of the land.
Take the actions of God during the Creation into account for example. He spent the first six days creating the resources that man would need for his survival and comfort, and the things that will ensure the reasonable perpetuity of these resources. The plants, animals and sea generally constituted these resources, the heavenly bodies as well as the composition of the earth crust ensures the perpetuity of these resources.
Let's not forget that God could have easily made man first and made every other thing after within nanoseconds, but he took his time and ensured all the things man needed was provided before he went ahead and created him in his image and likeness.
This is what any reasonable person oughts to do before bringing a child into this harsh world. In an era of multiple contraceptives and birth control methods, it's an unforgivable mistake to accidentally bring a child into this world. It doesn't even counts as a mistake anymore considering how cheap these contraceptives are these days.
I consider it a sin and sheer evil to bring a child into this world, causing this child to lack and suffer which would only lay a foundation for a destructive youth. At the end of the day, innocent members of the society will be the ones to suffer this 'mistake'. Is it cruel or not?
Most unwanted/accidental births end up forming the buck of the group some would call the scum of the earth ( the criminals, murderers, fraudsters etc). This is not to say that some do not turn out right, but we all know that any good thing takes alot of effort, which most of us these days seem to lack. Hence the quest to get it quick.
Children are gifts that are worth celebrating and should only bring joy and not pain. To avoid the pain that would come, be sure to go into childbearing when you're ready. It saves us all a great deal of stress!
Author's Epilogue
Well..it's been days since I last wrote anything on the platform. The last days of my Industrial training were stressful beyond words can describe. My body had no choice but to adjust to the rigours of the job. Infact, I could say it was 3 weeks in the trenches but good thing is I'm back.
Writing is like the biggest task ever as my fingers still hurt from all the clearing and heavy lifting it went through.
I'm glad it was successful and I'm back home, my joy knows no bounds right now.
I missed you guys alot and I'm sure you missed me too. Well I'm back and I hope to get to your articles fully. Thanks for sticking by me all this while, you're a part of this successful IT.
I want to say a big happy birthday to @HappyBoy More growth and BCH to you!
