The wrath of Typhoon OdettePh in Southern Leyte

Good day, read. cash fam!It's been a while since the strike of the typhoon Rai, known in the Philippines as typhoon Odette. I'm just so thankful because my family and I are safe from the wrath of this powerful and catastrophic tropical cyclone. I'm currently residing in Southern Leyte, where OdettePh landed last December 16, 2021 in two of its towns, Liloan and Padre Burgos. The typhoon has brought serious damages throughout the province causing power outage, shortages of water, food, fuel and telecom utilities. Many people are now homeless and frustrated. Luckily, we still have home to celebrate Christmas though it's not anymore safe to live in because of the damages brought by the calamity, yet I'm still grateful because my family is alive and well.

The pictures above were taken by me personally last Dec.17, 2021 in the market of Sogod Southern Leyte. My heart melted as I took these pictures 'coz I felt what they felt. It's like fixing things you're not sure if it can still be fixed. People were busy getting the materials which can still be used or recycled. Nothing was left but pieces of broken homes and hopeless hearts of the residents.

This is the National High way that looks like a forest after the strike of typhoon Odette. Only motorcycles can pass through this maze-like roads. Almost all of the electrical posts and transformers were damaged causing the block-out in the province of Southern Leyte. Until now, still there's no electricity and stable internet connection in the said province. I also visited our church located near the river. As I entered the place, people were busy fixing what's left by the typhoon. They have no more clothes to wear 'coz they were all wet and dirty. They're hoping for the government to rescue them by giving food to feed their empty stomachs.

Visiting this place after the typhoon is like planting grains in a farm. You have to walk in a muddy ground with many fallen coconut trees. But I really didn't care how dirty, muddy and dangerous the place was. I just wanted to check on our church because the musical instruments are still inside, thinking I can still restore those for good. Sadly, nothing was left. They were all drowned by the overflowing rivers. But I know nothing is impossible with God. He will use generous people as instruments to let our church stand again for His glory. Though the typhoon has left so many damages all over the affected areas in the Philippines, still if we hold on together we can overcome all of these trials. Let' continue to pray and spread love no matter what. Have faith that everything happens for reasons. Thank you for your time and support. I'm sorry for posting this late.
