After five games Man City are on the 5th position with 10 points. Though I am not the one to bother myself with standings until after game week 10 this season is shaping up differently. They trail their 3 main rivals by 3 points already. That is no big deal because Man City can go nuts as usual and win 20 games on a spin. The main problem now is that Liverpool and Chelsea in particular look like they can also do the same this season too. City's next game is against the bulldozing Chelsea. If they lose this one they will fall a massive 6 points behind all three of their rivals if Man U defeat Aston Villa and Liverpool win at Brentford. It's already difficult hunting down one rival not to talk of three. Maybe this is the season where Man City's dominance of English football ends. Maybe we are about to witness a proper top four title scramble this year.

If Chelsea beat Man City that's probably it for them esp if Liverpool win too.
It will be incredibly difficult for them to close the gap if they lose at Chelsea and Liverpool beat Brentford. More teams will take points off City this season. They don't look as assured and commanding as before.
