It costs nothing to say "Thank you!"

Right from our younger days, we have been taught good manners and right conduct. Be it at home or in school, it's just so amazing to have such a thing.

However, despite this thing being taught to young generations, there are still those who up until now, don't even know how to say thank you even when they receive help from others, and the like.

Let me ask you a question. Is it really needed?

We have the autonomy to make our own decisions, and this is true. But just because it's not written as a rule to say thanks or express gratitude to those who help us or to just convey respect to those whom we interact with does not mean we no longer have to do it. Granted that there are no laws that govern us to say thanks to those who help us or in almost any situation, it is not a punishable offense if we don't say thank you.

There is this thing called "unspoken or unwritten rules." Ignorance is a great hindrance, but it just needs common sense to adapt to such things. For example, don't interrupt when the person you want to talk to is talking to someone else, or when you go to the grocery store, don't just leave the cart in the middle of the queue after paying for the goods you purchased. Moreover, when your things accidentally fell and someone helped you pick them up, you may say thanks and smile. Don't just get it from that person and have a blank expression as if nothing happened.

The things mentioned above don't need to be written and spoken first, right in front of you, for you to do them. Sometimes all it takes is common sense. Many people actually know it, but there are some who still fail to apply it sometimes. It may seem simple, yet some people forget it sometimes.

To have manners is to have a good attitude towards others. We're not perfect; I get it. But it costs nothing to say "thank you," even if to random individuals who, in one way or another, have helped you in almost any situation. This is because no matter how little it is, being thanked for something good we've done just feels great, and it could even make anyone's day.

I hope it serves as an eye-opener not just for us, but for the next generations as well because it is always better to live in a place filled where good manners and right conduct is not only being taught, but also being applied in life.

That is all. Thank you for reading. Have a great day!

Thank you is a word simple to say but difficult to say by some. A word that touches the heart, settle dispute and bring peace. Thai you.
