A Goal to Consider: Overcoming Intimidation

4 57

One thing that needs to be overcome is intimidation. While it is possible to employ intimidation to discourage a toxic person, it is more commonly used in gaining control over another person, whether to maintain one's ego or to belittle that person.

When it comes to writing, a writer may get intimidated too by others. Take note that it is not because the others are doing something all the time. But because there are just some who feel intimidated when reading others' articles, making them doubt themselves and asking the question, why do they seem to easily do such things?

A lot of people remark about how tough, intimidating, overwhelming, and mostly, how frustrating it is to write. In light of this, how can we transition our attention to the good things and avoid the negative?

Look at the bigger picture and brighter side. Rather than focusing on the negative aspects of the situation, concentrate on the good. It's just like any other fanciful story. So talk about the wonder of this otherworldly realm. People who are willing to put themselves at risk may learn.

It's OK to start small. Taking joy in even the smallest accomplishments is an important part of living a full life. There are many things we do in our daily lives that help us feel like equals to others: We work hard to be excellent friends and partners; we take better care of our families; and at the same time, we are striving to become the greatest version of ourselves and to improve the world around us.

Many aspects of this skill and lifestyle appeal to us, including working from home, choosing our own hours, not being required to wear a suit or tie, listening to our favorite music, and sipping whatever coffee or tea we like or drink we want. But in the end, we write because we are unable to stop. We get intimidated, yes, but we can overcome it, just like how we move on from something we think we can't, but in the end, we did it.

Nevertheless, a writer extracts, edits, polishes, summarises, and filters the junk out of life and provides you with the notion's essence in their writing. They didn't catch it out of thin air, and neither did they get it from a particular legend or receive any kind of supernatural insight. No! By swimming through the murky depths of the mind, we came out on the other side with creative thoughts and thoughts worthy of sharing with everyone. It's a journey through a desolate world of ambiguity, across harsh deserts and frightening hills to the sanctuary of fulfillment and the fountain of wisdom to taste with clenched contentment.

And, indeed, words may overwhelm us, particularly those phrases and sentences that include hifalutin terms in their titles. As a result, they may cause us to feel as if we've been swallowed whole by the ocean. We're not merely overcoming our fear of writing by reading and learning more. By expressing ourselves via the articles we write and share with others, we are also allowing ourselves to develop the fundamentals of our knowledge and combine more valuable and sophisticated information that we can apply, not just here but when it comes to real-life scenarios as well.

So that's it, my dear readers. Again. it is normal to feel a little bit intimidated, but if others can, why can't you? Just keep on improving your craft and reading more. The more that you write also, the more that you improve your skill in it.

Yeah, it's okay to feel intimidated, and it's normal. But nothing will change if we look and compare ourselves to others.

Agreed. While it's okay to look up to others, it doesn't mean you always have to compare yourself to them. You can make them as an inspiration and be a better version of yourself.

I think one of the reasons that writing can be intimidating is because people aren't always clear about what they want to say, and they don't know how to communicate it effectively. It's very easy to feel like you're not good enough or that your work isn't good enough when you don't have a clear idea of what you're trying to accomplish with your writing.

Very well said @frdchckn. That is why, having a clear understanding of something we want to write about is definitely a must to not feel a bit intimidated when someone decides to start writing it.
