Unexpected Help for Manong

Hello there crazy dreamers 👋👋 How's everyone? I hope that everyone gets the chance to find a reason to be a happy today. Although you think that today is not really your day, I just want to remind you that there's still a reason to smile. So smile dreamer🤗

Earlier, my Auntie asked me to do some errands for her. Because I already finished my activities and classes, I said okay to her without any hesitation. Also, I need to get some fresh air from the outside world haha. I didn't know that the errands she asked for is to go to the market to buy some stuffs. So I hurriedly prepare myself before going there. I also bring some extra money because I know myself, I'm so thrifty but when it comes to food, it's a big No haha. I also make sure that I listed all of the things that I need to buy because I admit that I can easily forget everything lol.

After an hour, I already bought all of the stuffs that my auntie needed. She even remind me to asked some " tawad" (discount) when I buy some vegetables to their suki but I'm too shy to do that. And I also believe that their profit to that is too small that's why I also shy to asked for some discount. So, I always give what the vendors say haha. I also decided to just walked because it's only took 15 minutes from market to our house and besides the fare fee is too expensive. I can't deny that the weather is a bit hot but it is still bearable.

While I'm walking there's a man who really caught my attention. He was sitting on the side of the road while selling rags and pot holders. I even hear him talking to one customer and I've heard that he was doing because his son's birthday is coming and he want stop buy a cake for him. Yeah I admit that on that part, I became a Marites hahaha. So I wait them to finish their conversation because I don't want to interrupt them. After that, I asked Manong how much does he sell the rags then he said that the pot holder is Php. 20 (.39 USD) for 3 pieces while the rag is Php. 50 each. I only have Php. 200 (4 USD) in my pocket. But I still get this and buy those rags, unfortunately I was not able to buy all of his rags because I don't have enough money. So, I have no choice but to leave Manong again. I'm a bit disappointed because honestly ,I really want to help him especially that I've already heard the purpose why he do that.

When I got home , I told Auntie everything and she knows me well. She even said to me " Go, maybe Manong is still there". So I come back to the place where I saw Manong but this time,I have money on me. I was also surprise because my Auntie give me some foods then she said " Give this to Manong, maybe he was already hungry". My Aunt is so sweet even sometimes she looks like a dino. Just kidding. So I look for a tricycle hoping that Manong is still there.

When I got there, I saw Manong that still sitting there and when he noticed me , he suddenly said " Oh, you're here again?" I just smiled to him and handle the foods that my Auntie prepared. At first , he was hesitant to accept that and I understand that because I'm a stranger to him. But I urge him to eat because it's already 1PM and I know that he don't eat anything since earlier. I also buy the remaining rags and pot holders. Then I was laughing when he asked " Is it a vlog?" then he checked if there's a camera focusing on him. I was laughing while telling him that I'm not a vlogger and I don't have any phone on me. I usually didn't bring my phone when I go to market because I'm afraid that it might get snatch. Then that moment, I saw him with a teary eyed look. I said that I heard everything he said earlier and I'm so touched. He told to me that his son will turn 12 this coming week. I also give him an extra in order for him to fulfilled the wish of his son. I know that the amount that I give is not big but his reaction is so priceless. And when I heard those word " Thank you Anak" , I suddenly miss my Dad. A parents can really sacrifice everything for the sake of their kids. I bid my good bye to him with a smile. It seems that I did another great job today. I didn't share it here to impress others but instead I just wanna take the opportunity to say thank you to the people behind this platform. Because of them, I able to lend my hand to help others. Thank you so much💚I considered myself as a blessed because I order to be part of this wonderful community. And I also want to remind you that helping others have no exact amount needed, as long as it comes from you heart it is valid. When we help others even in a small way, it seems that we are also helping ourselves. It is very fulfilling.

And what's the funny part is when I come back home, my Auntie said " You don't have a lunch because you already give to Manong". But she was just joking but I asked her why she used my lunch box hahhaha. Confirmed she loves her tupperware more than to my lunch box hahah. We both silly I guess. And I was about to told to my Mom about this but my Auntie already spill the tea lol. Then she shouted " Proud of you". This day is full of unexpected happenings but I think that all of this is worth it.
