Did you know the reason why there is no Mercury Drug Store inside SM? Definitely it has a story behind that. Even though Henry Sy (the owner of SM ) is a chinese but his youth is not good as you know. He is very ambitious back then to put up his own shoemart. That time Mercury Drug is a well recognize drug store in the Philippines. Henry Sy asked the owner of Mercury Drug if he can rent a small space to put up his small shoemart but unfortunately Mercury Drugstore's owner refuse to it and he insult Henry Sy. Because of this, Henry Sy promise to himself that if he becomes successful he would not let Mercury Drug to be part of his business and to embarrass him again. That's the story behind it. This true story gives us a lesson that don't you ever judge a person by its cover because we don't know his future. His future might become more bright and successful than yours. So always be humble.
