As a citizen of a country, every individual with a legal age should have a responsibility to vote. Perhaps, some of us might think that being a voter doesn't matter at all because the law itself doesn't requires it. But on the other hand, it is a social responsibility to achieve the democracy that we want. "The Choice is Yours" so we must used this opportunity to choose the better one.
My registration's experience to become a voter
Yesterday, I decided to register myself to become a voter for the next year election. I go to the Comelec Office at exactly 4AM because in our municipality it is a number system so meaning to say first come first serve. At the same time they only cater the first 150 individuals every day to follow the health protocols. I thought that I came there early but I was shocked because I am already at the 124th spot. Some of them arrived there at 2AM because they want to secure their spot.
Because it's my first time , I asked some of them why they are so eager to become a voter. There is someone who answered "Because it's my duty as a Filipino. I didn't register because of them but rather for myself to be called a responsible citizen". The other one replied " Look at our government, what can you see? You can see a leader who actually puts their effort to have a better community but some of them only used their power to gives authority. But you know what, you can't blame them because we are the one who put them in that position. So if we truly care for our country, we should used our opportunity to choose". I admire their answer. Both of them gives me a motivation more to become a voter. They are right every vote counts.
I finished to register at exactly 3PM. I admit that my patience is almost gone because of the long hours I've waited and also because some of their staff is rude. But at the end of the end, it is still worth it because I can call myself now a responsible Filipino citizen.
There are so many reasons why an individual should become a voters. Here's some of those reasons.
1. Being a voter is an opportunity to voice out yourself.
As a citizen, we have a right to gives our opinion and to choose the leader that we want. Your chosen leader is definitely a reflection of yourself. You choose them because you believe that they will become helpful to achieve the democracy. We should not depend on them rather they should depend to their citizen. An individual's voice is a power of a country. We should used the election as an opportunity to voice out ourselves.
2. It is the time for make a difference.
Not all difference is bad sometimes we need it to improve our life. As being a voter, we should not let any candidate to buy our votes because at the end of the day, we are the one who will suffer. Election is a time to make a difference and to improves our country. If we choose the right leaders who can help us to achieve that , it's better.
3. Chance to choose who will used your money
As a citizen, we have also a responsibility to pay our taxes that we give as a contribution to our country. So don't let this hard earn money be a waste or either a chance to them to corrupt. Being a voter is your chance to choose the leader who will used that money to help not to brag. Because that is definitely a citizen's money not them .
4 .Chance to secure the next generation's life
The young generation's future is on our hand. If we choose a right leader, we can assure that they will be have a bright future and vice versa. Maybe right after the election , we might think that it has no effect on us but you will notice that it makes sense when the time passes by. Your vote is the gift you give to the young one. We always say that young generations is our future but we are their present because we are the one who will choose the leader to guide them in the future.

Being a voter is a big role for us. It is not only about our preference but it is more about the future that we will want to have. We should choose the next leader not because they are popular but because we believe to their ability to handle the country's situation. It's hard to choose but we need to because the future is on our hand. I just want to remind you that the "Choice is definitely yours". Be a wise voter and be a responsible citizen. Be a voter to choose a right lead not to support your favorites.
Yes, everyone should be reminded of this. We are all aware of this but the truth of the matter is that most of us are easily swayed when offered with money.
