Poetry and Grief 2

*What do you do* *When you wake in the morning* *And your eyes are too heavy to open?* I hear the crickets chirping The howling wind of the night is fierce  It threatens to swallow every sound Still I hear them I can't stop listening I envy their determination It's dawn and I toss and turn Silently cursing the sunlight Filtering in through the curtains *What do you do* *When your pen slide from*  *Your weak fingers and hit the floor?* I sit staring into space My fingers are trembling They look old and frail They might break any moment My eyes are unblinking As I take them down to have a look The blue veins are so stark I can touch them But my fingers won't move even when I try *What do you do* *When you can't find those words* *That keep you company each day?* I'm scared of my mind Of the thoughts and of the words For the first time in my life I worry about what will come out if I  Put the contents of my mind into letters When they'll look like  When I empty them on paper The fear is becoming a chill Crawling steadily up my spine *What do you do*  *When you want to stop breathing* *When you wish to stop feeling?* I hug my knees to my chest Rocking back and forth Like a mother comforting a child I'm so numb I won't stop rubbing my arms My eyes are huge in their sockets They feel like they might pop I want to go to sleep and never wake I want peace for my restless soul This healing process is perhaps more draining than you could imagine. I'm not sure I even want to try again. I'm exhausted. I want it all to end. It's all going round and round in circles. There's a moment when you go out, look at new faces, smile and forget for a while but it always come back, every freaking time. I think the breakdown part is partly over, but my body is still fighting back. Whatever happens now, I can only say that I'm here and will see it through. image source https://pixabay.com/go/?t=image-list-getty&id=gm1159495308-317070607?utm_source=pixabay%26utm_medium=affiliate%26utm_campaign=SRP_photo_sponsored%26referrer_url=https%253A//pixabay.com/photos/search/healing/%26utm_term=healing **BoldItalicUnderline** share your thoughts COMMENT Top   New   Conversational    20 JOEBLACK STONE09 Aug https://www.uptrennd.com/user/joeblackstone What a lovely and amazing poetic lines, every challenge will all roll away some day  2  REPLY    22 Sincere Helper09 Aug https://www.uptrennd.com/user/mtgznzk Good lines deep meaning of every word and it's real poetry which anyone read or listen.  1  REPLY    17 PNPONLINE Official09 Aug https://www.uptrennd.com/user/www.pnponline.cc Oh dear..
