Marky Stories: The Mystery In The Amartel Cave (Part 2)
Aurelio obeyed what he said. He ate. While eating, Aurelio was startled to see snakes crawling towards them. Others are just on the side that suddenly pops out of rocks, through holes in the top of the ground, in trees, and in the grass.
“Do not be afraid. Do not show fear! Just calm down. They are all venomous. When you return to the cave, they will not move. When you have finished eating, come back and I will go with you, ”said the old man.
When Aurelio returned to the cave, he saw the old man lit the candle he had taken. It immediately lit up the dry grass on the rocks. As a result, it ignited loudly and smoked. The awake Japanese soldiers encamped at the camp at the foot of the plume saw the smoke. So, they thought someone was near Amartel. So they hurried up the mountain with a downpour.
Less than 100 Japanese soldiers rushed in and as they crossed the tall grass, they noticed they were passing snakes. That even if they are tempted, they will not be able to walk. They thought the snakes they trampled, slapped, chopped and encountered on the walk were venomous. Importantly, they catch suspected robbers and anti-Japanese protesters.

Because of what happened, the authorities forbade him to go to the cave because of the danger that could befall him. Grandpa Aurelio wanted to reveal more secrets of the cave, but he decided to keep quiet. In his last statement, the old woman he spoke to and with him in the cave is still alive today and his face has not changed in the last 75 years.

Marky Stories: The Mystery In The Amartel Cave (Part 1)
Although the hill, where the cave is located, is beautiful in the eyes of the villagers of Sikaayo, no one dares to enter it. They call it ‘Amartel’. According to the story of Grandpa Aurelio Meling, no one tried to enter the cave after World War II.
He told the story of the cave where he hid his real name when he was 77 years old.
In the time of Grandpa Meling, he was 17 years old when he saw a tragic scene that he, his friend Mauricio and Cenon and his girlfriend Isabel. The cave became a dumping ground for those killed by the Japanese in the past.
The said cave also became their grave. Often, American and Filipino soldiers were piled up there and then covered with earth in a dugout part of the cave. Then, the Japanese soldiers dumped rocks. The same is true of captives suspected of being rebels or spies against the Japanese.
Continuing the story of Lolo Meling, the Japanese built a base and a fort near the cave. According to him, it is only 200 meters away. Even so, the cave is unthinkable and has hidden secrets and mysteries despite its beauty.
When the Japanese made a zone in their barangay, his parents fled Aurelio. He also included his girlfriend Isabel. His friends Mauricio and Cenon and he obeyed. But, it did not reach the cave as they had talked. He just heard that Cenon was caught and Mauricio was killed when he was caught.
During their escape with Isabel, they stayed in the cave. Aurelio noticed its beauty, from stalactites and stalagmites. Marbles and rocks also change in color when they are exposed to sunlight.
At night, it glows when exposed to the moonlight. Despite knowing the intricate secrets of the cave, the couple decided to stay there. They are not worried because there are many tunnels in Amartel that the Japanese soldiers have never been to. Their concern is to run out of food storage. There is no problem with water because there is a stream near the cave. Also in the oil that is put in the gas so that they have light at night inside.
Once, at midnight, Aurelio decided to get out of the cave and go through a tunnel out the back. He plans to visit their home and find out what happened to his parents and four siblings. Isabel was asleep when she left Amartel.
As he was crossing a narrow passage behind the cave he saw a woman. This old man was sitting in a tree between two large rocky outcrops. Aurelio thought the old man had fled and walked near Amartel. So he approached it.
“‘ Grandma, why are you here? Did you also run away? We are at Amartel. It is safer there, ”said the young man. The woman smiled. Although it is old, it still looks strong.
“Why would I run away from them? Don't worry about me, son. You, what are you doing at night? Don't you know that Japanese soldiers are patrolling now? They know that at this time the civilians are coming out. Go back to where you came from! ” the woman said as if warning Aurelio.
" Is that so? I am careful. I want to know what happened to my parents and siblings. I am worried about them. Then we also have no food stored by my girlfriend. So, I will take fruits and vegetables in our yard, ”the young man replied.
The old man smiled at Aurelio. It was not even marked by fear.
“You stay at Amartel, but you still don't know the ins and outs there? Do not return to your barangay. There are Japanese on guard. Go back to the cave and head to the seventh tunnel on the right. The sign then is the engraved stone snake. Go there because the end of it is wooded. There are fruit trees there and vegetables. There is also a creek there where you can catch fish. Come back immediately, ”said the old man.

“Where? "It's just a rock, Oyeng!" said the senor.
What Oyeng did was grab the buffalo dung and apply it to the stones he had dug up. The señor, on the other hand, walked away because the young man did not hate what he was doing. The senor seemed to want to believe that Oyeng was out of his mind. And the intense, the young man defecated on the lawn where the *makopa* tree stood. He picked up his feces and smeared it with seven black stones the size of an *atis* bone. Then wash in the well.
“Are you disgusted, sir? But that is what it should be. These golds belong to the black fairy. So that they would not get me back I did what my friends taught me. Fairies don't like stinky, ”Oyeng once again covered the rocks in his excavation.

His friends have moved to a ballet tree. She was told to wear a red dress during the full moon as Lilet would do.
Oyeng followed the instructions of his friends. Most people already believe in him because of the miracle he did to Lilet.
After 10 years, the young man did not see much strange behavior and speech. Oyeng was able to marry in the person of Loisa and she had two children here. Lilet and I did not stay together. Even though he loves it, he accepts the fact that heaven and earth cannot reach each other. In spite of what he did to the girl, Senyor Rafael and Senyora Amanda objected that he would marry the two.
However, Oyeng boarded the lot occupied by some ballet trees including the largest as promised by señor Rafael. Oyeng's life went well because of gold. But, he is still a farmer.
Lilet, on the other hand, got married to Kano. When she made an excursion with 8 friends on Mount Makiling, she returned to acting strangely. His friends and wife said he ate guava fruit. However, her sister-in-law Dorothy said that the woman was able to cut down a mound next to the guava tree just because she was bitten by ants. Dorothy allegedly stoned the mound and beat the wood with the help of her boyfriends and his wife.
Lilet was bedridden for two weeks due to the strange disease of rapid aging. They referred him and treated him with an herbalist but he was not cured. Senior Rafael wanted to ask for Oyeng's help but Lilet's wife forbade him. When the senator asked Oyeng for his opinion on what happened to his daughter Lilet, Oyeng said that the woman was a fairy.
The fairies were angry because their fort was destroyed. His friends had nothing to do with or could do to heal the woman. He said the fairies in Makiling should apologize for what Lilet did. Senior Rafael said this to Lilet's wife and ten others involved in the destruction of the mound but they listened. They do not believe in fairies.
Another week later, 5 of Lilet's friends and her husband went crazy. Lilet died after drinking milk and vomiting.

"Son of a coward, how did he do that?" exclaimed Mang Estong, 47, when he saw his 8-year-old brother Oyeng cross the flood.
Surprisingly it was not even read despite it descending into the water. It was as if he was just passing through the usual road despite the force of the flood. Their brother Aleng Kepat, 50, died when he saw the strange incident. Oyeng returned to them after an overnight stay at the ballet tree. They could not pick it up because apart from the chest it was still dark. That happened during the height of the pouring rain that has now subsided.
It was said in Barangay Lugnok that Oyeng is going crazy. Probably because of the stories he told about his friends who allegedly lived in the ballet tree. He said that is the most castle or kingdom of his white-skinned friends or albino. He was allegedly invited to a party by his friends with his colleague Merto who had been buried for a month.

Lilet, the woman Oyeng loves, has a serious illness. It was lying on the bed and seemed dead. It seems to be possessed by an evil spirit and always out of self. He also vomited and had epilepsy. The medicine did nothing to the girl's condition.
Two months later, Lilet became comatose. Oyeng says he saw Lilet in his friend's kingdom. But the girl's family did not believe him except for Senyor Rafael.

Sometimes, we just want to relax and unwind after a very hectic week at work. Especially as summer approaches and the sun rises again, it seems so nice to go out of town, swim in the pool, and sleep in a hotel where the aircon is very strong.
