The Prodigal Son
There was a rich man with two sons. The youngest has already asked his father for part of his wealth. So the father divided all his wealth in two. A few days later the youngest left and went to a distant land with all his inheritance. He squandered all his property. When he had spent all his wealth then there was a severe famine in the place he went to. He found a job as a pig feeder. When he was so hungry, he even ate pork. When the youngest son was able to think, he remembered that in his father's place there were many hired servants. They were plentiful in bread while he was about to starve to death. He thought of returning to his father even as a servant and he said he would apologize. He got up from the seat and traveled back to his father. He looked at her from a distance and felt sorry for his son. He hugged the child and kissed him. The youngest son said, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight. I am no longer worthy to be called your son. ” The father, however, called his servants and said, “Easy! Bring the best clothes and put them on him. Give her a ring for her hand and sandals for her feet. Bring a fattened calf and slaughter it. We will eat and have fun. It is because this son of mine died and rose again. He was lost and found. ” Coming home from the farm, the eldest son heard the joy in their house. He asked one of their slaves what was there. The slave said that his youngest brother had arrived. His father was killing a calf because his brother came home healthy and not sick. When the eldest son heard this, he became angry and did not want to enter their house. Because of this, his father came out and begged him. The eldest said, “I have served you for many years. I have never disobeyed your command. You never gave me a little goat so I could have fun with my friends. When this son of yours came, you killed a fattened calf for him. He wasted your livelihood with bad women. ” The father responded and said, “Son, you are always with me and all I have is yours. Rejoicing and rejoicing is necessary because this brother of yours died and rose again. He was lost and found. ” Lesson: God rejoices whenever His children are converted to Him. Be humble, confess sins, and be converted to God. Avoid being jealous. God wants you to rejoice whenever something good happens whether it is with your neighbor or with your own brother or sister because God's design for man is to love and not to hurt. It is true that no parent can tolerate a child. Likewise, God cannot tolerate his children.
