His tanned skin-like copper reflects his glowing appearance. The light that surrounds his face calms once rage. Rays doesn’t hurt unlike the sun that burns every eye who dares to stare. His dimmed light is soft and cold. White long hair flows like a clear river. The golden crown echoed authority. The tattoos of the moon on his arms and shoulder determine him as the one who rules the night. The god of moon, Libulan.

Lidagat the goddess of the sea married to Lihangin the god of wind. This is the reason why when we go the beaches the breeze of the wind dances with the waves of the ocean. Lidagat give birth to four deities.  Liadlao the god of the sun. His original body form is made of gold. Likalibutan, the god of earth. He was strong and a challenger. His body is made of rock. Lisuga, the goddess of stars. She was kind and artistic. Her body is made with glittering silver. Lastly, Libulan the god of moon. Among the other deities, he was shy and gentle. His brothers have a strong muscular appearance, he was more slender. Libulan speaks well mannered. He often expresses his emotions ending up being alone.

One night as Libulan dances above the sky in the cold night, the god of death Sidapa, who is residing at the top of Mt. Madjaas is watching him.

Many nights as he continue to watch Libulan above the sky, he observed that many other gods are interested in Libulan. Sidapa felt jealous. He couldn’t explain the sudden explosion of emotion inside of him. Every time he watches Libulan he felt joy and comfort and when he sees other gods he wanted to spread catastrophe. Sidapa decided that night to bring birds to give melody to the field, spread flowers to bloom above the sky and fireflies to lead libulan to him. Libulan then came down from the sky and meet Sidapa. They were both too stunned to speak. Libulan saw Sidapa with dark skin, a horn and a menacing aura that can easily fled life. Sidapa notice that Libulan may be afraid of his physical appearance he then bring gifts to offer to Libulan. Sidapa makes everything to make Libulan happy and comfortable. Libulan then descends often from heaven to see the death god. Out of confusion the death god ask him to officially court and be with him. The cold nights doesn’t affect Libulan as he was filled with warm hug from Sidapa, he was no longer alone and agreed to be with Sidapa forever.

Death found his light through the reflection of the moon. The darkness wasn’t invaded by the light but it emerges with the dim. The moon then experience to express and show love, it no longer hides. Far from the heaven moon become soft as the light coming from moon guided many people in earth. Sometimes, the saddest part of the people’s life happened in night because death is always clings on the moon.

As the gods remain in the Mt. Madjaas, a misfortune took place and shocked the world. Sidapa woke up one night and Libulan was missing. No clue where He is. Sidapa look over the place. Give orders to his minions to find his light and love. He then stood realized something. Some god was also obsessed to Libulan. A diety from the ocean that can descend through the heaven. It has scales all over the body. It can transform into the body of dragon-snake like figure. Sidapas shout awakens the fairies of the land and sea. Creatures from the land including humans tremble in fear. They started to use Gongs to make sound. There is only one diety that Sidapa is thinking. The Bakunawa…

Please be reminded that the last part comes from me. Please comment down if you want to know if Libulan is still alive HAHAHA the story of libulan and sidapa is still on debate because some claims are that this story is a modern myth and others say that it was an original story because homosexuality is believed to be taboo in today generation that’s why this story was forgotten. Anyway, let’s just enjoy the richness of our literature. What can you say about today’s article? Comment down below. God bless us all
