Can I just say, whoever is behind the creation of this website I tip my hat to you sir.
I can't help but think that this platform could inspire a new generation of journalists in developing nations, particularly within sanctioned countries.
How powerful would a daily or weekly blog be from someone living in Palestine for example, detailing what life is really like there and giving us access to real uncensored news straight from source.
The current centralised platforms would never allow such a possibility to be achievable.
Also, anyone who follows "CryptoBeadles" the co-founder of the Monarch wallet (of which Roger Ver is an advisor) will be aware YouTube have just started 'randomly' taking down his videos with no explanation.
And, if you're on Twitter and involved in "Crypto Twitter" scene you may have recently seen @APompliano was taken down by Twitter. Not that I am a particular fan or follower of him but it's a reminder to all that these people need to look at new platforms, more in line with what they are advocating.
Nobody should have their content controlled when it is not breaking any laws or inciting harm or harassment of anyone.
On the internet there is definitely a lot of opinions and people's voices out there who I disagree with but to quote the famous Evelyn Beatrice Hall:
"I Disapprove of What You Say, But I Will Defend to the Death Your Right to Say It"
Platforms like this are the definitely the future of journalism, we have seen in a short space of time how media monopolies have started losing power to places like Twitter and YouTube which is great however this is not the end goal, the end goal is decentralised mediums.
It is like the LIbra stablecoin being produced by Facebook, I don't want to just replace central banks with corporations I want to see this technology REVOLUTIONIZE the World.
Let's get talking up the power of read.cash to people we know, even people who are not yet involved in BCH.
This is simple to use and I have no doubt will progress and evolve into something really powerful if we use it and start encouraging others to do so. It could be a great career opportunity for journalists or aspiring journalists in Venezuela, Iran, Palestine, China etc.
I can't wait to be subscribed to the next generation of journalists move from the current monopoly of platforms and embrace the new generation in which read.cash is apart of.
Again to the creator of this, thank you.
Note thanks for the owner clarifying, this is not censorship resistant to the extemt implied in the article
There a few reasons for that, you can read some here: https://read.cash/@Read.Cash/why-we-dont-publish-articles-on-chain-7faed7aa
Basically, anything that has a domain name (like read.cash) must be censored to some extent (if we would, for example allow people to advertise drugs or something like that - we'd be shut down faster that we can say "who's there?"). That's why we say "no obviously illegal stuff".
So, this isn't a problem that we set out to solve. The problem that we want to solve is to have as many people using Bitcoin Cash as possible. And writing an article is a pretty good way to earn Bitcoin Cash."
