It's called a sickle. I use it to trimm my garden alongside the shears. I believe it will still be in use for a long time. It serves its purpose accurately.
I have three sickles of different sizes and one of them is also old, made once by a blacksmith. And on industrial sickles there are small teeth on the cutting side.
