Who else falls into this category, an over thinker, whatever happens he keeps pondering and pondering until he feels some kind of way towards it. There are always two ways to a view, how you'll wish to see it and how it is actually, as much as you can choose to view it your way the feeling of how it actually is doesn't reduce, instead it escalates, you'll feel more vexed compared to just accepting it for what it is, accepting the truth earlier has it's way of reducing the effect of the event on you, it's as though it doesn't matter as much as. I'll explain further.

Let's site an example from a natural occurrence, a guy trying to ask out a lady, through the process of their constant keeping in touch, the lady keep saying words of hope, words like "its not like I don't want you, there's something I need to take care of first", or "my parents are against it, let's give it time" good and tangible response which sends hope and positivity to the guy and may very well be true, she truly may need time or their parents are against it and she's trying to win them over, but there are others who are doing it so they can still gain from the guy without getting into a relationship with him.

Now the actions of the lady would be a clarifying factor, as much as words can be said but actions really tells more, her actions subconsciously and naturally tells where her heart lies, He however can choose to act on the actions or keep believing she would never go against her promises. However its amazing how people no longer take their words that seriously anymore, the integrity of old is losing weight on today's world, so rather than banking on someone else's word, it's also not bad we study actions also.

Two young men were promised a position by an uncle and a friend at almost similar time and they had to choose, on getting to the uncle's house they were treated so poorly, as though they were not family, they tried to accommodate the characters moreover they are the ones in need of favour, the friend however was more relatable. It became as though the uncle didn't have anything prepared for them because few days upon staying with him, yet nothing has been said, one said to the other, I think if any position was truly waiting for us, I think by now we should be aware, at least we can plan.

The other however refused to think the uncle being a family would toil with their effort, so it shut out the whole idea, there is a position waiting. They've tried talking with their uncle but he said they should be patient and not disturb him meanwhile the offer from the friend is closing, so the other decided to seize the friends offer before it closes, while the other decided to be patient, because the uncles offer has a much higher pay as he promised so he would wait, when he gets the job he woild then go visit his brother and preach to him about patience.

Well he has not gotten the job till date, it was a total waste of time, luckily for the brother who has sense the character and quickly ran away from the uncle, apparently the uncle didn't know they had an offer, he was still helping them find an opening and only spoke with assurance that there's a job for them, hoping before they arrived a job would be ready but it never worked as place and he got more pressured cause now they are here in his house, that also contributed to his harsh response.

So amidst the situation, amidst the assurance, whoever it is family or friends, I think its important we think on their characters than mere words. Actions that say speaks louder than voice, you may be termed an over thinker but it would help you better prepared cause you'll see it coming before it does. Words can be deceiving, even a facial expression can be deceiving as well as the tone of the voice, they all can be coined as well as actions, however pay attention, the subconscious sets in, there might be some truth to discover for yourself.

You're right, I'm the type to overthink everything that happens to me, but my thinking is always right and my predictions right. For example, as a response to the example you gave, I consider that this woman is trying to evade me, unless her actions indicate the opposite. But the first thought that occurred to me was that she was trying to evade, but I gave things enough time before I take the final decision.

Its always worth taking time out to think things through, I don't see overthinking as wrongs, rather it gives enough time to come up with a best view, however I have an issue with quick response, i overthink but take my time to react.

For work , i guess it all depend on the recent need of it. If you still have 6 mos to spend in your pocket then it would be nice to be patient and wait within that period. But if the need to work is urgent then grabbing the opportunity outside is much better. For asking a girl out - if you keep on hearing those excuses for some time then it would be probably a cue to stop. You are not going to date his parents , duh? If at an age of being too young then it's a valid excuse but if you're dealing with an adult then you should "read between the lines". In both cases that's why we should not just be booksmart but rather be streetwise too , so we should learn " how to read between the lines".Between false hope and reality.

You said it all, I'm guessing you explained it better with these few words, well said sir. Keep the wisdom flowing, for real we should learn reading between the lines.
