“The Whisper Behind the Rice Field” In a small village in Bangladesh, there was an old rice field that everyone avoided after sunset. People said the field whispered. No one believed it — until Arif heard it himself. One evening, Arif was returning home late. He decided to take a shortcut across the rice field. The moon was half-hidden, and the wind carried a strange, low sound. At first, he thought it was the wind. But then, the whisper became clear: “Turn back… Don’t step on me…” Arif froze. He looked around — no one was there. The entire field was empty. Again the whisper came, directly behind him: “I’m under your feet…” His heart stopped. He slowly looked down. The mud beneath his feet started to move — as if something was pushing from under the ground. Arif tried to run but slipped. When he placed his hand on the mud to stand up, a cold, thin finger wrapped around his wrist. A voice rose from below the soil: “You stepped on my grave…” Arif screamed, pulling his hand with all his strength. The soil cracked open — revealing a pale face with empty eyes staring at him. He ran without looking back and reached home shaking. The next morning, villagers found strange fingerprints on Arif’s wrist — long, thin, and inhuman. Since that day, Arif never walked near the rice field again. And sometimes at night… he still hears the whisper: “I’m waiting…”
