We live in a world where the norm for human relations is fast becoming right is might. The powerful or the ones who world the most influence are always right no matter the circumstances. The powerful nations oppress the weak ones overtly or covertly by use of military force , economic sabotage and the likes. The world powers continue to search for the next big weapon system or technology to give their citizens some sense of security and keep adversaries at bay. Vast amount of wealth is invested in preparation for war. The nation's which can cower others to submission by means of their military prowess regardless of their moral standing are often feared and hailed as the victors . They act as judge, jury and executioner irrespective of the legality of their actions from the perspective of international law. The situation is so pathetic that international law now appears to be two faced, one face for the powerful or wealthy nations and another for the weak or powerful nations. Such a situation portends a gloomy future for humanity as it will perpetuate a cycle of oppression and resistance to oppression. What is at play on the global scale is even manifested in our homes. Some parents, fathers, mothers by virtue of being the weilder of authority, have either knowingly or unknowingly being infected with the I am always right syndrome. This syndrome has wrecked and is continuing to wreck homes the way it has wrecked the world. The members of the family unit including the children have rights which should not be trampled upon else the result will be rebellion and chaos. Same applies to individual countries and citizens of a country irrespective of their skin colour or ethnicity. Until and unless as individuals we recognise that every creature on the planet has a right to be treated with justice and humanely , peace will continue to elude us in our homes and on the global scale.
