The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever among you sees an evil action, let him change it with his hand [by taking action]; if he cannot, then with his tongue [by speaking out]; and if he cannot, then with his heart [by at least hating it and believing that it is wrong], and that is the weakest of faith.” Narrated by Muslim in his Saheeh.
It is also an indisputable fact evil has spread on earth by the handiwork of mankind. The above Hadith calls all Muslims to attention not to feel unconcerned about evil happening around them even if it's not in their immediate environment. Some of the evil that have spread far and wide today may have been nipped in the bud if people had spoken up against them at their onset.
Let us do some soul searching to ascertain if we are indeed not culpable with the evils happening around us by hating them in our hearts which is the least we can do.
Alas we are often unconcerned when we are not directly affected forgetting that we have been warned of a calamity whose consequences will not only affect those who directly perpetuate evils.
May Allah rectify our affairs and guide humanity aright.
