Loving and living in regret

I never really told you how much I loved you But I know that now it’s much too late I know I took your love for granted to often Now I have lost my lover and best mate My heart was full to bursting When we met on that special day But when you told me you still loved me But you had no choice you were going away I didn’t know what to do I couldn’t face losing you It took me all my life to meet you Now my heart has been torn in two I fell in love with you the first day that we met The electricity between us I never will forget For me It was love at first sight I dream about you every single night I know our affair could never last Because for me my life is nearly past And you are beautiful and so far out of touch But I still can’t help myself for loving you so much I know I will go to my grave loving you with regret But I will never forget the feelings when we first met You made me feel alive you gave me a reason to live You were kind and so loving with so much to give Now that I have lost you I don’t know what to do I will spend all of my eternal life only loving you One day I only hope you will find me waiting for you And that we can be together just us two I promise I will never let you go my love for you is strong And we will live for all eternity where our love belongs.. #poem #poetry
