Top Tough Job

The national election is coming soon here in the Philippines, as usual, it's the talk of the town, especially in the mass media. Although, I care less about it, but it has been a subject from the people I've been interacting today, it seems that I hear more of politics than Christmas and Covid19, so I give in. Let me write something about it.

The noisiest by far among all of the available occupation is the highest ranking position of the country, The President of the Philippines. The politicians eyeing for the position all have diverse experience, some have the atypical colloquial mentality, political inconsistencies, to radical vision. All that is a circus in the realm of social media, where everyone has their own opinion of loud or obscure agenda and well, who wouldn't notice those funny memes, quotes and taglines.

The top job, being president is, in many ways, the nicest job in the world perhaps. The salary, though not princely compared with what a successful crooner can earn, maybe half a million per month in Philippine peso, and expense allowances are generous. The Malacanang is rent-free, complete with limousines. The Airforce places as an armada of aircraft at the President's disposal. The Navy offers a variety of ships to suite the President's tastes in cruises.

A President also meets a lot of interesting people. He is welcome in the homes of the rich and fawned upon by the masses. Fleets and armies are his to command. His name is one of the world's household words. His every word is magnified, reproduced, circulated, and studied with a respect suggesting that his wisdom transcends Plato's. Epic, yeah?!

This job surely is to satisfy the most energetic craving for fulfillment. Any man assuming the office would love it, but would sheepishly admit it. His words would always be for the people, and by the people. A way to win the hearts of the masses. Every democratic mind would always follow such vision. It works, I guess.

Anyhow, comprehending the minds of these candidates nowadays, my humble mind had gotten lost in translation. Why? Because, these aspiring politicians had gotten lost in words too. One, opted for this famous line in his speech "sana all" with beaming confidence and drama. While another candidate lost their Math skills, and some often times talk in riddles. Undoubtedly, their talent is surprising during the campaign period.

Last Thoughts

Politics has never been clean and noble in the face of the earth, especially here in the Philippines, it has always been with malice whether from the topmost or at the bottom position. And, for this reason, ordinary people like us must act with diligence and responsibility for the people we choose to lead our country and our community.

As for me, I might care less at this time about these people who seek for my approval at this time of reckoning, however, I will exercise my will to vote with moral and logical effort. Nevertheless, as Christians, we have to pray for God's guidance, because the people who will sit and govern our nation and community should be honored and respected as He commanded.

"Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God." - Romans 13: 1

God bless, the Philippines!

Sometimes we do not want to vote, it is always the same speech, after the elections, whoever wins, they forget the speech. Politics has become a battle to reach high positions, although they are well paid they do not make you a millionaire, but as a president and his family group become multimillionaires in less than two years?, that is one of the reasons for the great electoral battle.

Yan din napansin ko mas trending ngayon ang politics kaysa sa Christmas at Covid19 but still let us pray to God kung sino ba talaga anga dapat.

Always a legend in boxing, but he has gone ambitious in the political arena too, I think it's too early for him though.

Free elections are the most important for a democracy of one country and voting right should always be exercised but sometimes there is no choice and that could be very bad.

Here is one characteristic of a perosn that I will NOT vote for... Palaging nagmamalinis - lahat ng dumi itinatapon sa kalaban. Pero ewan lang king gaano karami ang duming tinatago nla.

You said the right thing. Politics has never been honest. And when the elections come we only get to listen to their speech full of lies and inconsistencies.

I am not into politics as well. But seeing how these things are all over the internet, made me think and hope we can choose the rightful leader. Let's pray that who ever will sit on that position will do his or her best for the sake of the Filipinos not only his or her sake.

Let's pray for our country. Whoever wins, may the majority give their support instead of bashing and trying to destroy the government. We should unite as one and support whoever the next President will be.

Yes, let just pray whoever our officials will be. It's so toxic right now where everybody that some of them are fighting who should be the President and stuff. Let just do our part even though it's a little to make this country a better place

God bless the Philippines. Let us cut the candidate- shaming and trash talks in social media as it will not do any good. Instead, we should pray for them and to the one who will win that he will lead sincerely knowing that God has us in His hands.

The summary of it all is that a president has the state's immunity in all that he does in this life
