PITAYA OR PITAHAYA? Very confusing isn't it? Well, here's some information to lessen the confusion: PITAYA, refers to plants under the genus Stenocereus while PITAHAYA are plants that are from the genus Selenicereus or Hylocereus but to play safe and avoid giving the wrong information, we call these plants as dragon fruits even they are still on its flowering stage. Both plants are from the family Cactaceae.
