Depression Destroys I saw what depression has done to a loved one. A once vibrant person was left empty like every good thing in her life was sucked out. No matter what we tell her, no matter what we do, she turns back to herself and shut everyone of us out. It pains us to see her like this. She was an inspiration when I was a young girl. I always told my parents that when I grew up, I am going to be like her. I realize now that behind her laughters and easy-go-lucky ways lie a lot of fear and loneliness. I wish we saw that earlier before she was swallowed by her bitterness. I wish we were persistent whenever she declined going with us. I wish we were a better family and not let her fall into nothingness. She is not the same person now. All we can do is to be there for her and be patient with her. It is sometimes frustrating dealing with her. Her sisters would cry behind her back, would rant on their anger. It is like talking to a child. But behind the anger and frustrations are hearts that love her enough to never let go of her.
