How Complicated To Get A Job

Here in the Philippines, the issue about K-12 still do exist. For some, K-12 is very helpful in a way that the students can decide on what course they will take in college, that the additional two years will give them a good experiences to learn in the particular track they want to pursue. On the other hand, some students do not agree on this, as it will just consume more years before they graduate, and more expenses although the government provide subsidies, in reality this is not enough as there are more expenses other than the tuition.

________________________

I have mentioned last time that my younger brother will graduate from senior high, then we saw some posts saying that the new set of national officers are planning to remove the K-12, imagine if this happened, then on the next school year the batch of my younger brother who graduated from senior high school or grade 12, will pursue first year college together with those who had moving up from grade 10. I told my mom that it's impossible to remove that k-12 although many are against to it, even I myself is neutral in terms of this topic. My mom jokingly said, "It's okay if they will remove the k-12, but they must pay back all our expenses."

About finding a job, most of the companies and other jobs prefer to hire college graduates, and since they don't accept graduates from k-12, then others conclude that k-12 was useless. What's more funny here in the Philippines is that most companies have this high standard, I remember my aunt talking about "pleasing personality" as one of the major requirement of an applicant, I asked her on what does it mean, then she said that the company needs a beautiful/handsome worker. Like opss, we are all beautiful, but what if the outer beauty that we have doesn't reach the standard of the company; end up with discrimination.

One of my co-worker said that when her son graduated from k-12, it became lazy to pursue college, he prefer to work at least he can earn, and ignore the benefits of being a college graduate.

I have watched a video, saying how demanding to have a job in the Philippines. First, they want you to be a college graduate with 1-2 years experience. Imagine you are a fresh graduate and trying your best to grab any work that you can, then they will ask about your experience; does the 17-19 years on studies isn't enough for experience? Charr.

One thing that I don't like about finding a job is that it's too hard when you don't have a backer or someone that will help you to take even the lowest position. Actually this is not only in job, but even in scholarship, when you don't have backer then don't expect too much that you can get the slot. This is not good, but what I am saying is the reality; no matter how intelligent you are.

Some of our kababayans prefer to work abroad, most of them take job which not related to the courses in college, but they are satisfied with their income although it's not that easy.

I don't know if my co-filipino writers here have the same observation, again based on my observation, that the government usually give an additional salary to teachers, police and army; but in other job sectors still the same.

Another thing that I don't like in terms of salary is that those who work hard only gain few income, while those who just sit in the office or just have that work because of power earn more.

By the way, this are just my observation and own opinion, I know there are a lots of benefits but sad to say, not everyone can have it.

The idea behind it was superb in that way we are the same as our international counterparts, however, we are not yet ready to implement such. Employers still look for college grads or if not, at least they are able to secure at least 2nd-year college without any back subjects.

It is frustrating as it is but the standards are too high but the salary isn't thus more and more are looking for opportunities outside the country or looking for employers which isn't Filipino ( more online jobs)

Job search and job applications are not easy tasks. I know a resume writer from the US who excels in advising job aspirants. The resume is the first thing. Of course, if one can get some tips from someone who already works in that company, it can help a lot to crack the job interview.

I do have the same observation kaya nakaka pressure lalo na sa tulad ko na graduating ngayong year.

Today's world is more compititive then before and finding a job related to our experience or education is a mountain climbing activity. So most of us went to whatever available because inflation and commodities prices not allowing us to stay and wait for deserving one.

True! That's why graduation certificate is not a guarantee for you to surely have a job related to your course. No choice but to grab what to grab.

Kaya dumadami OFWs.

I completely agree with you my friend. Unfortunately, in the business world, we always see a lot of inequality, which makes us discouraged from continuing to work in it, when we see someone who is less educated than us, and does nothing but pay higher than us. All of this causes a lack of motivation in the employees. Or someone who has a very good education, and has always been a top student, but because he hasn't a backer, can not work in good and related jobs with his education.

I sister 100% agreed to you. It is too tough to get a job. It is also due to saturation of students of same degree without job.

Though getting a job is so much complicated but everyone tries their best to get one. Some people also choose business than job but most of the students runs behind getting a job after finishing their studies.

you mentioned you are neutral regarding the topic but it seems otherwise, Anyways, I want to underscore the fact you write, "one who works hard earns less than one who works in an office", clarify this point, 'whom you are actually referring to?' Thank you.

Diba discrimination Yun Tas yung hr manager na Yun eh ayaw tanggapin pag mataba ka or my marami kang pimples.

Tama sis. Di gaya sa ibang basta physically kapa to work kahit ano pa itsura mo at sa ibang bansa di mahal or magastos magtrabaho kasi di nila need ng super kapal na make up. Hay naku iba talaga ang Pinas

That decision of the government is hard, I hope people and them will compromise because it is unfair to those under k-12 and then they will just change the rule
