Wonderful picture! I remember 3, 4 years before I saw it and tried to captured it but I couldn't with a plain camera - I felt so sad I couldn't have this moment in a picture, still I have it in my mind.

  I would say the lens is more important as you could use an old camera if the lens is good enough. Don't give up - perhaps you could borrow a proper camera & lens from a friend? ;)

    Nah... I prefer doing my amateur work with my own camera (when I take it with me) or my phone. Although I love taking pictures, I'm too lazy to learn all these stuff about "good photographer", and remember all the buttons I should press or not.
