Little big secret

I told my heart a little big secret, it beat back that it already knew even before I was convinced of that secret.

I giggled, imagining my heart had a face and giving me that knowing look. I crushed on him because he crushed me, literally, brushing me against the brick wall with his sheer bulk in his hurry to catch up to a girl who seemed only eager to get away from him.

"Hey!" I protested

"Sorry!" He yelled back. One had waving in the air without the slightest will to look back.

Colour slid off from the wall and kissed my white on the sleeve - brown, like mud - On impulse, I place my palm on the wall to push myself off, partially ignorant of the still wet paint. Engaged, I cursed at the wall. "If you were original brick, you wouldn't need to be painted!"

"There was supposed to be a 'wet paint' sign on the wall." I heard someone say.

"Obviously!" I said. Noticing he was the same arranged walking muscles that had carelessly shoved me into the wall, I added, "And a 'watch-out-for-smaller-people-too' sign hanging beside that!"

Trying to rub the paint off only made it worse as I ended up smearing it more over the shirt.

"It's hopeless."

"Let me help..." He offered, his hand reaching out towards me.

"And how exactly?" I looked up straught into glassy brown smiling eyes and it was then it dawned on me that this arranged walking muscle was also a handsome devil. I watched his lips move and curve up to a smile, he had said something but all I remember saying was "wow"

"So....yes?" He asked

"Yes." I nodded, oblivious to the question he asked earlier.

By the time he left, not only had I gotten his name but his jacket also covered my body - and the paint on my shirt as well. It smelled of perfume and sweat. I watched him race down and out of sight.

Blushing, I told my heart a little big secret, it beat back that it knew even before I was convinced of that secret.
