Torum: SocialFi and Metaverse (Is It Still Worth It?)

I have been using Torum for more than 1 year and I started on the 25th of February 2021. My journey in Torum was easy, it has a simple user interface and an easy way to earn free crypto. This was introduced by a friend who described it as a combination of Linked In and Twitter. Gradually, I learned how to use the platform and started sharing my thoughts, especially in the crypto market.

But what is Torum, how can you earn from it, and is it still worth it? Well, Torum is a SocialFi ecosystem where it aggregates different popular projects in cryptocurrencies such as NFT, DeFi, Metaverse, and Social. Its objective is to connect crypto-enthusiasts all over the world to discuss and talk about cryptocurrency.

It has an active community where they are having AMA with its partners and discusses the improvement of its website. They also talk about the roadmap and their plans for the project. The community is continuously growing by improving its features like the NFT marketplace, withdrawal, and development of its user interface.

Now, the question is, is joining Torum still worth it? Let's do the math! They have this thing called Missions. It has Daily Mission, Weekly Mission, One-time Mission, and Special Mission.

This photo shows the daily mission inside Torum. As of now, it gives three daily missions which give;

• 0.125 XTM x 2

• and 0.5625

Doing simple math, you are getting a total of 0.8125 XTM daily. As of writing, it is equivalent to 0.1781 USD (based on Coingecko). Looking at the mission, you will not spend 1 hour completing these three missions. You can even do it all for more or less five minutes.

For the weekly mission, you will need to log in seven consecutive days to get free 5 XTM. For the bonus, you will receive 2.125 XTM if you complete 50 followers for 7 days. In my experience, I got 3 consecutive weeks of completing this 50 followers in a week mission. But to be honest, it is hard to finish this mission…it is a matter of popularity and your activity in the community.

Therefore, you are receiving 5 XTM (+2.125 XTM bonus) in a week. If we do not include the bonus reward, 5 XTM is equal to 1.10 USD as we speak and 0.4657 USD for the bonus.

There are more missions to complete, one-time and special missions, but since it is hard to complete them in a week if you are new to the community, we will base on the daily and weekly missions.

Let's summarize and solve the potential earnings that you will receive in a week.

• Daily Mission: 0.8125 XTM (0.1781 USD)

• Weekly Mission: 5 XTM (1.10 USD) +2.125 XTM (0.4657 USD) bonus.

In 7 days, you can get 0.8125 x 7 = 5.6875 XTM (1.2467 USD) plus the weekly mission worth 5 XTM (1.10 USD).

In total, you can earn 10.6875 XTM (2.3467 USD) in a week. If we include the bonus reward, you will get 12.8125 XTM which is equivalent to 2.8124 USD.

Now, the question is, is it still worth it to join? Well, for me it's a yes. Since the value of XTM is very low we are getting a small amount of USD but if we will look at the long term, it may have a higher value than today. But it still depends on the market and the people behind the project if they will manage the community well.

As of now, you can treat it as a faucet where you can earn a small amount of money. 

But the best thing is if we compare it to other social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter, we will notice that it is better than the two. How and why? Simple because Torum is giving you free crypto while using their service while the two mentioned platforms are not. Furthermore, you are gaining knowledge, reading cryptocurrency news, and interacting with other enthusiasts.

Conclusion

Overall, I believe that joining this community is still worth it because you can do a lot in its ecosystem from NFT, DeFi, and Metaverse.
