A Blog After The Typhoon (The Incompetence). December 21, 2021. I don't really write about anything in my life outside the cryptocurrency space, in fact, I haven't published a single article of what has happened or what is happening in my daily life as I only love writing all about in the crypto space. But in this article, is where I will show my frustrations and disappointments towards the services of some firms in the Philippines on how bad they can handle the situations that many Filipinos are suffering now. At this time, I am writing this article on my notepad as I can't easily access this platform and other sites because the 2 network providers in the Philippines are giving bad services to the Filipinos especially to us who lived in the Visayas and Mindanao area. So this article will just be words and as much as I want to paste some images, I can't because I am only limited with the connection. Days Of Frustrations After The Typhoon. When the news delivered about how destructive the Typhoon Odette can be, us people here in Visayas and Mindanao are almost panicking and worrying about the impact it could give. When I saw the news on our television, our island (Biliran Island) were put on Signal no. 1 category and could be up to Signal no. 3. And as I don't rely so much in the news, we still prepared for a possible worst to come. We cut the trees, secured our important papers, stock some instant foods and other important things when things really get worse like flashlights, bottled water , etc. Few hours before the storm started wrecking havoc, one of the internet providers, Globe Telecommunications, gave noticed to its subscribers that they will be closing some of their systems or will shutdown their tech (whatever they call it) to avoid a possible damage to them. Meaning, there will be no internet service from them during the wrath of Typhoon Odette. We were very disappointed. We understood that there will be no electricity during the storm but taking out internet service during the calamity is on another level of inhumane. Just to save a possible expenses, the Globe Telecommunications leave their subscribers behind! Like I said, there were 2 internet services in this country and we are still lucky that Smart Communication chooses to stay during the Typhoon. But, as expected during a strong winds and heavy rains, the internet speed is nothing faster against the speed of the turtle. After the Typhoon Odette destroys many lives and homes in the Eastern and Western part of the country, things even get worst! First day after the calamity, the internet service were shutdown, totally! People who were affected so much by the storm can't ask any help from people they know outside the destructed area. People like in Cebu were experiencing shortage of water and maybe foods for the unfortunate yet they can't do anything but to wait for any help to come. Second day after the Typhoon, things didn't get any better but it was not as worst as it was yesterday. The 2 internet providers looks liked team up together. Why? Simple; When Smart Communication is giving a good internet service for a few hours, people thought that the internet has gone back to normal. But just after a few hours, Smart Communication will take out their service, meaning no internet connection for their users and guess what? The Globe Telecommunications will be available and giving good services again, but just like Smart Communication, it will just be for a few hours. With this scenario, people who needed the internet will be force to recharge the two of them but in the end, it was not worth it because of their turtle speed! What a shame. Another problem that are currently experiencing by the people affected so much by the calamity is receiving money from abroad. People, like in Cebu, were restricted to received money that was only limited to an amount. For example, through Palawan Pawnshop, the receiver can't claim more than 5,000 Pesos when the money is from outside the Philippines. There are no further explanation about this but this is surely a nuisance especially for people who needed money for food and water. Final Say. I am not really the type of guy who complains a lot but the incompetence people are experiencing especially during in needy times really need to be adjusted. I didn't mentioned about any politicians because I don't mention over and over again about their incompetence and was just barely to show off when giving a hand. I am not talking about all politicians, but I know there are a lot them. How I hope Philippines can have so much more than just people who only think about their selves.
