Egos on Fire (Original Poetry) You think you’re an empath? I will never follow your guidance! This is when their worlds clashed. Again. It happened so fast, you could hear the silence.   A dense atmosphere filling the room Causing love and joy to withdraw Sending distorted signals into the dune Changing colors of the kaleidoscope before dawn.   This time it’s on you To come forward and choose What amnesty do you offer? Something my heart can’t refuse?   I longed for your warmth Offering hugs and kisses Waiting for you to transform And realize that I was always there for you.   A burning desire awakened our souls Sending the egos on a stroll Flooding hearts with endless love Breaking another set of patterns Engraved in our thoughts.   A powerful release of energy followed Propagating shock waves through the system Aligning feelings and emotions To captivate the kingdom of wisdom Into a colorful myriad of explosions.   Am I grateful? Am I blessed? It’s up to you to guess. For some it’s difficult to digest Those who’re humble will invest Into a magical life of growth and progress.   💎💎💎 Krisz Rokk 💎💎💎 Creative art: AI-generated image by iFeherArt via Midjourney https://ecency.com/@ifeherart https://www.midjourney.com/ Originally published on the Hive blockchain at @**KriszRokk**. https://hive.blog/hive-161465/@kriszrokk/egos-on-fire-original-poetry

See You On The Other Side (Fiction) Mark was done with the corporate world. He spent the last twenty precious years of his life working for a global multinational company. Logistics, supply chain, shipping and organizing various size trucks to unload and upload goods was his daily job and he absolutely loved it. It’s all he ever dreamed about since he was a child. He used to swap football cards for toy trucks and when he got older, he took all the money he earned from mowing the neighbors lawn to attend various truck shows. He used to love waking up early in the morning and greet the truck drivers on his way to the office. Everyone knew and loved Mark. More so, his wife’s Christmas cookies were everyone’s favorite. As soon as the first snowflakes hit the valley, Mark kept being reminded about the delicious homemade goodies his wife was always preparing. Unlike most corporate entities, the atmosphere amongst the employees was very good. As a lot of the team members were from nearby towns, the connections felt familiar and real. Then one day everything changed. A big merger took place and the company was incorporated into an even bigger enterprise that was solely interested in profits. Less than six months later, half of the staff was sent home and the remaining half was left to do all the work. The wages obviously, stayed the same. All these changes took a toll on Mark. He could barely wake up in the morning to go to work. The job lost its appeal and so did the company he previously loved to work for. Staying in the current environment for another twenty years was not an option. So he quit and started his own small business. When you leave a cosy job with corporate benefits and change the playing field, things shake up a bit. Being an entrepreneur and running your own business is a whole different game. But Mark was up to the challenge. For him switching sides was no longer optional but a mere necessity. So what do you do when you embark on the other side with Mark’s skills, experience and know-how? How about opening a small retail store with fresh produce from local farmers? That’s exactly what Mark did. Not only that, but he integrated a small bakery too where his wife could sell her fluffy homemade pastries, cakes and cookies. Mark’s story resonates with a lot of unhappy and unfulfilled big business and big bank employees. Some choose to stay in the game despite the frustration and lack of joy due to fear. Others over-emphasize the importance of money, a fancy company car, a chic office or the significance that is derived from a certain title and deliberately choose to stay on the treadmill for another round. And than there are those with minds of steel who want to play a different game in life, one where bliss, purpose, health and legacy aren’t tradeable. Pay attention to the small details in life. If left unnoticed, these can knock you out of balance and push you in a spot you might not want to be. *Play with life and let life play with you.* 💎💎💎 Krisz Rokk 💎💎💎 Creative art: AI-generated image by Daniela S. via Midjourney https://www.midjourney.com/ Originally published on the Hive blockchain at @**KriszRokk**. https://hive.blog/hive-199275/@kriszrokk/see-you-on-the-other

Unstoppable (Original Poetry) An insatiable push and pull game questioning the status quo challenging common beliefs that shape a tormented system.   Some approach it with disbelief others fall into the necessity trap few manage to crack the code and live life beyond their dreams.   Even if you embark on this journey alone you decide which team you join shrink or grow as you might know will lead to different sides of the road.   A deliberate choice to make life work invites one on the path of growth triggering the mind to explore awakening the spirit for deeper joy.   The brave will conquer their inner core activating the powers lying dormant in the soul enabling the heart to act like a unicorn guiding the alchemist to turn wisdom into gold.   You become unstoppable and you transform it’s time to release the last brakes for energy to flow committed to outstanding results as you evolve allowing the self to expand before you go.   💎💎💎 Krisz Rokk 💎💎💎 Creative art: AI-generated image by Daniela S. via Midjourney https://www.midjourney.com/ Originally published on the Hive blockchain at @**KriszRokk** https://hive.blog/hive-161465/@kriszrokk/unstoppable-original-poetry

The Laboratory (Fiction) She was lying on her back breathing heavily when a truck passed by. The driver didn’t see her so he continued his journey. Amid the ever-present breeze of diesel fuel she could finally straighten up to continue her travel. Blood was pouring down from one of her knees making it difficult to walk. The adrenalin kicked in and she couldn’t feel the pain any longer. As she was leaving this forgotten industrial complex, she remembered the good old days when she used to come here with her father and watch go-kart races. It was a small track but people from the villages nearby used to gather every Saturday afternoon and enjoy the atmosphere. You could witness drivers brag about their experience and than lose the race while you were savoring a bag of popcorn with a super-sized soda. One day the owner sold the land to a corporation and the race track got demolished. A fancy building of glass along with a couple of ugly containers were part of the new scenery ever since. They told us that the company had established a modern laboratory to do medical tests on animals but that was all we ever heard from the officials. More so, as they only employed people from outside this area, we couldn’t get rid of the feeling, that something fishy was going on behind the big yellow warning signs that read “No Trespassing”. Here she was on a winter night trying to find her way home after a car accident. Tara was driving her beautiful red car when a truck driver pulled over and hit her car on the side of the road. The impact was significant sending the little car off the road and causing it to roll over. Luckily Tara didn’t suffer major injuries and was able to exit the car alive. But here she was on the side of the road with the truck driver who caused the accident shamelessly continuing his journey while she was looking for her phone to call for help. The battery died pretty quickly so she wasn’t able to dial the emergency number which led her to start making her way home by foot along the side of the road. She reached the industrial complex after an hour or so when she realized a painful sensation of pressure in her lower back. Her body sent shockwaves to the brain informing every single cell to quickly lie down and rest. Now that she could move again and the fog that appeared right after the impact had been lifted from her brain, she started having all these flashbacks from her childhood. First, the go-kart races came to her mind, followed by the many colorful circus shows she attended with her older siblings, the farmers markets that used to sell fresh regional produce on the weekends, and finally she saw her mother laughing while purchasing a coup of ice cream for her younger sister. That was the last time Tara saw her mother happy and laughing wholeheartedly. After a terrible illness took her younger sister away, her mother never recovered. She stopped speaking the day Hannah died and a few years later she wouldn’t leave the house anymore. Despite of these events taking place more than thirty years back, it felt as if everything was unfolding now in this present moment. The warmish blood pouring down her knees invoked a state of dizziness in Tara, making her question the ability to get home on her own. She decided to take a little break and sit down on the side of the road a little bit before she would continue her path. It was dawning when a group of workers heading to the laboratory noticed a human body lying on the side of the road. It was Tara. She was alive but unconscious. Her wounds caused her to lose a great amount of blood. When Tara opened her eyes she was lying on a table of steel with all kinds of wires connected to her body including her brain. There were no signs of bruises, fractures or injuries on the body. She felt completely pain free and the memory of her accident was non-existent. All she could remember was her name. Tara was never to be seen again. Her car was never found and there was no mention whatsoever about an accident in the region. The laboratory is functioning to this day. It is said that the experiments taking place in this remote location go beyond what is acceptable under the guise of “medical research”. The limits of time and space have been removed, enabling scientists to move between realms and explore infinite possibilities. 💎💎💎 Krisz Rokk 💎💎💎 Creative art: AI-generated image by Daniela S. Your Life is a Battle with Your Mind **What goes on between your ears will determine pretty much the trajectory of your life. Your destiny is directly correlated with your decisions, therefore understanding the battle that goes on in your mind which you’re involved in consciously or unconsciously, is absolutely crucial. The last thing you want is a battle on autopilot.** We feed our mind on a daily basis just like we do our body. Often times we’re loading our precious computer with junk information and wonder why the outcomes are so destructive. When we do this consciously, it’s difficult to blame others as it’s way too obvious, however, when we invite information into our brains without using a proper filtering system, we love to attribute the negative results to exterior factors. *Who are we actually fooling in this 3D game of life?* Just because we favor the lazy and complacent gears based on their attractive appearances doesn’t mean we’re not aware of what’s happening to us on a deeper level. Outsourcing a major part of our human power has never been more easy. On the flip side though, we might get away with fooling our mind over a long period of time but you and I know, that our hearts will always signal an incoherent vibe when we’re out of sync. **What’s Your Favorite Flavor of Suffering in Life?** Why is it that we can pick up the energy of somebody entering a cafe or restaurant a few seconds before this very person enters the entity? Why do we overanalyze our new relationships, business partnerships or even a car purchase when it feels right? The main objective of the mind is to analyze code AKA information. While it’s doing a phenomenal job when it comes to strategizing and combining different aspects of creativity to come up with a plethora of new ideas, it is a terrible interpreter of feelings and emotions. When the communication between my heart and mind isn’t aligned, I suffer. This has been a key indicator for me that something is off. My level of energy seems to drop as a consequence and my abilities to decide and act fast are also affected. More importantly, my thought process gets stuck in a spiral leading me into a maze of twisted patterns that hijacks my power. Raising my level of awareness and quieting my mind to be able to dislock and gain back control over my brains’ operating system has been crucial for me. Allowing the heart to communicate in a free and uncensored manner with the mind while keeping the ego in check has benefitted me tremendously. More so, strengthening these neuro pathways have enabled me to pick up information faster and allow my mind to work like an alchemist. *Do I still get kicked off the railway track?* You bet I do. However, it happens less than it used to since I became conscious of running this pattern a few years back. Staying vigilant is something I find extremely enticing, therefore mastering this little game between my heart and mind is of utmost importance to me. **Your Heart Knows, The Mind Analyzes** **Mental strength** is essential in business, sports and life in general. Investing time into understanding how that amazingly powerful data control center located in your brain works is a prerequisite to leading a successful business and living a blissful and fulfilled life. https://www.strengthinbusiness.com/3-powerful-books-to-strengthen-your-mental-stamina/ No Artificial Intelligence (AI) can beat the power of your heart and mind, no matter how many scary stories you hear or read about it. Never underestimate the power of the two highly sophisticated and complex energy centers located inside your chest and head. When working congruently, the combo is a force to be reckoned with. There isn’t a single weapon on this planet that comes close to mimicking the amount of energy these centers are capable of releasing. Understand the life force that lies within you so that you can unleash it for the greater good. This world needs more courageous individuals who won’t be stopped by fear and propaganda. **Your mind is a powerful weapon. Don’t let it dominate you and take you places you never want to be. Learn to use it properly in order to design yourself a beautiful and harmonious life that enables your spirit to grow.** Creative art: AI-generated image by Daniela S. __________________________________ Originally published on my blog at **StrengthInBusiness.com** https://www.strengthinbusiness.com/your-life-is-a-battle-with-your-mind/

Energies Colliding (Original Poetry) Screaming her lungs out She fell into oblivion And no history book Would ever mention her name.   Her creativity changed the world Enabling mankind to evolve Igniting human consciousness Inspiring those ready for a paradigm shift.   Some were ready to spread their wings and fly Dismantling the dark shadows of fear Facing the unknown with confidence Envisioning a bright and vivid future.   Others struck by self-doubt Remained confused throughout the journey Only to realize that nobody was coming to save them From their agony and apathy.   The gates opened, welcoming the newest guests To join a unique adventure Designed for the brave ones Who want to make their dreams count.   Energies colliding on the battlefield Emotional ripples blurring the mind Pouring patterns and laving the skies Capturing souls to regain power.   Opportunities beyond imagination Calling for a quick reaction Changing perspectives while Transforming lives.   💎💎💎 Krisz Rokk 💎💎💎 Creative art by Daniela S. The Suitcase (Fiction) She looked out of the window in the hopes of seeing her favorite station but the fog was so dense she could barely discern the shapes of her own breath released in the air. The doctors managed to pull out the liquids from her lungs and yet, every single breath felt as if a creature was hitting the drum from the inside of her chest. She got lucky though, unlike her roommate who a couple of hours before Tammy was released, transitioned into another realm. It was a short train passing through the countryside and connecting a few smaller cities. The infrastructure in the region was quite bad and the train was the only option for people in the region to escape their ordinary lives for a few hours. Tammy closed the window and rushed back into her cabin disregarding the two gentleman that were having an intense conversation in the corridor of the train. Upon entering she closed the door and sat down opening her bottle of water and taking a quick sip. She was alone in the cabin enjoying the quietness after six weeks of constant machine beeping, alarms going on and off all day long, and nurses rushing from one patient to another. Breathing without a machine was pure freedom. Tammy’s lungs have recovered quite nicely and she could more or less go back to her previous life. But she had other plans that would give more meaning to her creative endeavors while catapulting her future into the unknown. Facing death several days in a row triggered Tammy’s resilience factor beyond that which the human mind can comprehend. Since she’s never been the same. The pleasant side effects of those horrific hours included a heightened level of awareness, increased intuition and the willingness to squeeze every drop she could out of her remaining life. The watch showed ten more minutes until the train reached its final destination. Tammy knew the moment she’d step out of the wagon her old friends waiting for her would do everything in their power to keep her in the familiar zone. That however, was the past and she would no longer settle for it, even if it meant packing her bags and leaving the place she loved and lived in her entire life. She closed her eyes briefly hearing a couple of sentences from the conversation that was unfolding in the hallway before somebody knocked on her door. An elderly woman with a suitcase greeted her and sat down on what appeared to be a wooden bench. *“Pardon me, Madame, what is bothering you? ... If you don’t mind me asking.”* said the elderly woman in a very soft and pleasant voice. Tammy looked up and without overthinking the answer, she replied intuitively: *“The time I wasted on people and experiences I didn’t care about.”* *“Hmm … Do you see this old suitcase I’m carrying around?”* the elderly lady went on to say after a brief pause. *“It’s to remind me of the past I can’t change and the difficulties we all have letting go of stuff in our lives.”* She stood up elegantly and left. Tammy watched her leave the park before she heard a whistle. The train had arrived at the final station and passengers were kindly asked to disembark. Nobody was waiting for Tammy although she sent out timely messages to her closest friends and relatives. She remembered the wise words of the elderly woman, picked up her suitcase and rushed to the counter inside the small building located at the end of the railroad track that was just about to close. *“Can you please give me a oneway ticket back to the city? I’d like to return with the same train if possible.”* 💎💎💎 Krisz Rokk 💎💎💎 Creative art by Daniela S. Dreams (Original Poetry) She used to paint when she was young vivid colors scattered over the canvas filling the inner void with life.   The pain would fade away for a while liberating the lungs and airways enabling the body to feel whole again.   Rain pouring down the windows inviting butterflies to look for shelter in a world where suffering was optional.   Mirrors showing a disgraceful scene a broken heart left unhealed tampering the room out of routine.   Breathing heavily, she sighed “What happened to my life?” the past and present passing by.   Drawings not finished books not printed all my wonderful dreams not realized.   A new sentence was waiting for her to gently lift up her hand continuing a journey without an end.   Who was to blame for the debacle no level of rage or hurt could end the tireless fight with anger.   Freeing herself of turmoil and agitation inviting quietness to shape the landscape transforming calmness into deep awareness.   💎💎💎 Krisz Rokk 💎💎💎 Creative art by Daniela S. The Crying Forest (Original Poetry) Two paths leading into a mysterious forest One filled with autumn leaves The other one prepared to entangle its passengers into a white dream.   An eternal void, waiting to be filled with mesmerizing stories Igniting the hearts of curious adventurers Fueling the minds of future generations Welcoming explorers for their bravery.   Colorful paintings capture my eyes Allowing a quick glimpse into the abyss Scents accompany me on my journey of discovery Capturing my breath in its magic.   Reindeers looking up in the distance Rabbits hopping through the bushes Graceful butterflies encircling the sides Preparing the stage for birds to baptize us.   Overshadowing the insurmountable pain Of a crying forest eager to debunk an old myth We are invited to witness a magnificent sunrise Rich in wonders and experiences Surrounded by powerful vibrational shields.   The longing for less unfolding an ephemeral awakening Shaking the Earth to push for merit Urging travelers to look for a faster exit.   💎💎💎 Krisz Rokk 💎💎💎 Creative art by Daniela S. An Unpopular Question (Fiction) Disgusted by what appeared to be a perfect life, she packed her three suitcases and rushed through the door without saying goodbye to anyone in the house. She left her car parked in front of the porch and headed towards the main road dragging her luggage along. After standing at the side of the road for almost an hour, a truck driver stopped by and she happily agreed to the lift. She had been planning to leave everything behind and start a new life for several years but she never had the guts to do it. Looking at her life from the outside one could only shake his head as to why she decided to leave. She had two wonderful boys and an older daughter, a handsome husband who loved and cherished her, and a fulfilling job that allowed her to work from home. Ten years prior to hitchhiking with a stranger into the unknown she had a mysterious encounter with an older man double her age. The kids were watching a movie in the shopping malls cinema complex while she was doing her weekly purchases at the supermarket when this gentleman appeared asking her whether she was living a blissful life. Marcy stopped the shopping cart, looked at him and wondered whether the question was really addressed to her. The man nodded and asked anew: *“Are you living a blissful life?”* She stood there, petrified, not knowing what to answer or do next. The older man smiled gently at her and continued his shopping tour. When Marcy looked at her watch she knew she had to hurry up. The kids were surely waiting to be picked up and she had to pay for the groceries first before heading back to the cinema. What appeared to be a couple of minutes of standing there in the aisle of the supermarket desperately looking for an answer to this unusual question, turned out to be almost half an hour. How was that even possible? How could a question leave her speechless for such a long period of time? Marcy was witty and quick with replies. She loved jokes and always seemed to have an answer ready for everyone. Well, not this time. The truck driver looked over to Marcy offering her a hot tea from the thermos. They haven’t spoken a word since she joined Jacob in his truck. All they knew where each others names and the direction Jacob was headed. After a couple of hours went by, Marcy opened up the conversation. *“Is the lady in that picture your wife?”* *“Yes, madame. That’s Annie. We’ve been happily married for eight years now and we have a beautiful baby boy. I want to be at home for Christmas cause we’re going to celebrate his birthday.”* While Marcy was pondering about the detailed information Jacob delivered without being specifically asked for it, she replied in a soft tone: *“That’s lovely.”* Before letting Jacob continue, she added: *“Are you living a blissful life?”* Without hesitating a second, Jacob replied: *“Madame, I have the most amazing life I could ever imagine. Since I was a little boy, I always dreamed of having my own truck and being able to drive across the country. I married my high-school sweetheart which is definitely a bonus and I have a charming son. What’s not to love about my life?”* Marcy looked over to Jacob with tears running down her eyes and nodded in silence: *“I guess, you’re right.”* Ten years ago when she was asked the very same question by the old gentleman in the supermarket, she couldn’t come up with a reply. Today, if asked the same question, she could answer immediately. But nobody ever asked her again. Not in the past ten years. Jacob the truck driver didn’t ask her back this question either. The hotel lobby was empty. There were only a couple of gentlemen sipping a glass of whiskey at the bar having a heated discussion about the financial markets. Marcy rushed to the stairs covering her beautiful red dress in a white coat. All she wanted is to get to her room as quickly as possible. Tomorrow she had to perform a very difficult surgery on a nine year old who lost her vision due to a car accident. She was considered one of the best eye surgeons in the country and people from all around the world would seek her for medical advice. *Some decide to bury their past because only then can they build a new, carefree life that corresponds to their own dreams. Living a life that conforms to the expectations of others will most likely lead one to not be able to answer lives unpopular questions.* 💎💎💎 Krisz Rokk 💎💎💎 Creative art by Daniela S. The Passing (Original Poetry) Autumn leaves dancing on the surface of the crystal clear water, forming patterns of miracles while savoring the lights and sounds of the colorful season.   A smooth wind awakening the sleepy forest causing trees to bend and birds to abandon their nest.   Ants crawling in a line like soldiers trespassing colonies of white rabbits preparing to climb the next peak never discouraged by a leak.   The first snowflakes hit the valley giving flowers vibes of cheerfulness designing the fields with breathtaking mosaics of art.   A peaceful quietness surrounds you igniting thoughts to unravel faster disrupting patterns of solitude that witness countless breakthroughs.   A graceful passing of time reflected in seasonal changes creates space for humble new beginnings inflaming the willingness for deeper connections inspired by a meaningful moment.   💎💎💎 Krisz Rokk 💎💎💎 Creative art by Daniela S. When You Stop Looking for Shortcuts **When you stop looking for shortcuts you actually prime your brain to tap into that miraculous void that will reveal better options for you. The energy released from constantly being on the lookout to trick the system can instead be used to activate your antennas and literally attract new ideas, thoughts and creative methods that act like a magnet for shortcuts.** It is stunning to see the vast amount of people whether they are employees or entrepreneurs who play the business and money game with the sole purpose of getting quicker to their XYZ target without putting in the work, learning new skills and accumulating valuable knowledge. The hunt for shortcuts has never been more absurd and yet there is this false belief accompanying these players that bathing in the illusion of skipping through the experience of the journey leads to satisfaction, happiness, wealth and fulfillment. Obviously, there are ways to achieve your goals quicker by being more effective, deploying the right mix of skills, knowledge and experience, modeling what has proven to work over and over again, having the agility to adapt and pivot fast when it’s required while staying mentally focused, sharp and vigilant to change. **The Shortcut Myth** Looking for the magic pill that will transform your finances, health, relationships and life over night? Keep looking and all the best on your quest. We all know that disrespecting your body for several years in a row can lead to severe health issues. Looking to fix that with a pill so that you can continue that same lifestyle without side effects is totally delusional, and yet so many are trapped believing the myth of bypassing certain avenues and achieving great results without effort. The very same applies in business and is reflected in your financial statement. Certainly, working like a mule and putting in thousands of hours seldom leads to financial independence. The lack of financial education, discipline, consistency and perseverance are key ingredients of the money cocktail, however due to their unsexy appearance, they seldom get the attention they ultimately require. How’s looking for shortcuts playing out for you right now? Did this strategy ever provide you with spectacular results consistently over a long period of time? I for one love to look for patterns and commonalities. Once I find them I deploy modeling as one of my core strategies to learn certain skills and improve my know-how faster. Here are some of the questions I dive deeper into when embarking on a new quest: What beliefs shape the behaviors of high-performers? What mental exercises do elite sports and business people deploy to strengthen their **mental stamina**? https://www.strengthinbusiness.com/3-powerful-books-to-strengthen-your-mental-stamina/ What **habits** and rituals are part of their daily routine? https://www.strengthinbusiness.com/review-stephen-coveys-7-habits-of-highly-effective-people-part-1/ How do they deal with setbacks and failure? What tools do they use to boost their outcomes? What’s the smallest and biggest denominator amongst high-performers in a specific industry, sector etc.? How do they use seasons aka the cycle of life to hone in on skills and practices? By now you get the gist of my thinking process when analyzing patterns to be able to bootstrap the process and attain specific goals faster. **You Decide What Matters Most to You** Ultimately, it all comes down to you and the choices you make to live life on your terms. If you define yourself as someone who loves shortcuts and lives for shortcuts whether those are in business, relationships or some other (all) area of your life, you will do whatever it takes to live your life according to this principle. The reason for this is simple: staying consistent and true to your identity is engrained in you. Therefore, *the only way to escape the shortcuts trap is to change your identity*. Guess how many people are up for that? Humans tend to focus on big projects giving little to no attention to the fine details. Overlooking the programming we’ve been exposed to and more or less all of us have bravely assimilated, is a fallacy. The biggest advancements often come from little things, such as fine-tuning our way of perceiving, thinking and approaching life. Identity plays a crucial role in keeping us in a cave or enabling us to grow so that we can live life to our full potential. **Ultimately, there’s nothing wrong about shortcuts. It’s how you approach this topic and deal with fellow humans on a journey that shapes you as an individual and has a direct impact on the community and society at a large scale.** Image by Oleksandr Pidvalnyi on Pexels https://www.pexels.com/@freestockpro/ https://www.pexels.com/photo/blue-jeans-3036405/ __________________________ Originally published on my blog at **StrengthInBusiness.com** https://www.strengthinbusiness.com/when-you-stop-looking-for-shortcuts/

Biscuits (Fiction) A smooth wind welcomed the new season causing leaves to dance in circles on the streets. She left the house early in the morning and made it to the train station. Spotting her favorite bench, she pulled out a little basket while whispering her dream. Time stopped for Evelyne. For decades she used to catch the train early in the morning to passionately design clothes for a small family business. Leaving the suburbs to be part of the big city fascinated her. Friends and family used to come and visit, while going out to a nice restaurant was part of her weekly routine. Then came the merger and what used to be a pleasant workplace turned into a nightmare. She hang in there for a couple more years before she called it quits. A few months later the recession hit and getting a job where she could use her talent and knowledge became almost an impossible thing. Giving up was never an option for Evelyne, so she decided to start an endeavor on her own. She would wake up at three o’clock in the morning and bake biscuits. Now it was up to her sales skills to approach people and present her delicious, fluffy homemade biscuits. She never made it to a big business but the money was enough to cover her monthly bills. Years passed and she got stuck in the treadmill of life. The bench was her sanctuary; the basket full of biscuits her offering to life. Train stations have something magical. Some people embark on a new journey while others exit a path for a few hours before they jump back on it the next day. Whether you catch the train or wait to get the next one, you always intend to get somewhere. Evelyne’s dreams were engraved in the various colored biscuits of different shapes.
