Standard

There is actually a conflict between two standards:  1) Be good to your friends; and, 2) Tell the truth. Charlie wants to be good to both friends but if he tells the truth or not tell the truth, he will still end up hurting both his friends. The decision on this individual dilemma is purely personal as the decision depends on him alone.  He alone suffers in his personal relationship with his friends either way.
