A hike to mountain Afadjato.
We started very early in the morning to mount Afadjato-the highest mountain in Ghana,885m tall after driving leisurely for 20 minutes over a distance of 15km.And the hike was much more than fun. Beginning from the base of this enormous rock covered w0ith lush vegetation overshadowing pools of freshwater contained in rocks.Initially we thought it was collected rainfall but then our guide told us that it's spring.Wow! we said unanimously. Our fisrt time of seeing spring. As we ascended higher the scenery became more pleasant to behold that our guide almost left us behind. With each step taken the climbing got harder as we gasped for air, since we've never climb that height before. However, we managed to reach the summit. At this point we were offered a wide range of view over the lowlands, making it possible for me to see my city 20km away -very exciting indeed! Sitting under a hut built with wood,we discussed about the beauty of the nature and how it can be used sustainably to benefit the locals. Feeling the cold air that blew past our hot bodies it seemed to us that we are in another world- so peaceful and serene. Sad to say only a few people visit this picturesque spot once a year. Why don't you try to pay a visit this amazing mountain. After spending some hours on top there we descended gracefully and headed back home.
