From Shout to Silence — Part Two (A Brief Touch) I live in a place where prejudices and religious beliefs are like invisible chains drawn between me and my love—barriers that don’t allow two opposite genders to be close easily. Our connection began with distant glances and finally small gestures, looks full of longing and hope, a silence that screamed the cries of our hearts. Seeing her was a rare opportunity; she lived in an old house with a large balcony that cast shadows on my heart. Sometimes, trembling with a fear that had dared to leap, I would climb the streetlamp near her house, just for those brief moments when I could quietly look at her and feel a small joy. Years passed, and I turned seventeen. Sometimes, if luck was on my side and I heard her voice on the phone, a few short but meaningful words would be exchanged. But I discovered a better way; every day at six in the morning, while the darkness still weighed heavy on the air, she would leave the house to go to school. A little ahead of her sister, she would separate, and I had only five minutes—the golden seconds—to see her alone. The scent of her skin, that very first time I held her in my arms, slowly flowed into my nose and is still fresh in my memory; a fragrance that lit me up in the heart of darkness. As my body grew and my feelings awoke, sometimes I felt shy, but she was a wise girl who never paid attention to my body and only looked into my heart. Now, every time I smell that fragrance, I hear the beating of my heart; a beat that tells me with all its might that this is only the beginning of a path—a journey that still holds thousands of unspoken words and thousands of undiscovered feelings. Our story is one whose silence is still full of screams, and I am waiting to tell you everything that remains in the next part.
