From Shout to Silence— Part Three(Toxic Moments) Back in high school, I was a bit stubborn and reckless. Sometimes I did foolish things that I later regretted. For example, once I made a bet with my friend and placed a TNT under the math teacher’s desk! Imagine, the teacher was so scared he almost had a heart attack. After that, I was punished for a long time, he treated me coldly and gave me terrible grades. But that was just the beginning. One day, on the way back from school with my group of friends, the usual teasing and betting was in full swing. We bet on every silly thing you can imagine. That day, a simple and shy girl, as usual, passed by us heading to school. All my friends looked at her and talked about how simple and reserved she was. Suddenly, one of my friends made a bet that changed my life; he said, “If you can talk to that girl and get her phone number, I’ll buy sandwiches for all of us tomorrow. If you fail, you have to buy!” At that moment, I only saw the excitement and the vibe of the group. I didn’t think about my love, or her sensitive heart and pride. Just for that silly bet, I went and talked to that stranger girl and got her number. She gave it to me easily, with no resistance. But the next day, I found out she had told almost all the girls at school that I had asked for her number. Imagine how foolish that was! I just brought one sandwich, but when my love found out, everything between us changed. Our relationship gradually cooled down; no matter how much I explained or tried, she didn’t believe me. Those days were the hardest moments for me; days when I realized how a small mistake could ruin all hopes and love. But maybe there’s still a way to make things right…
