"I am Territorial" Forewarning: I'm not an expert or a Psychologist/Psychiatrist; I'm just sharing what I've learned and what has been diagnosed in me. What is it like to be territorial? It is an actual control of a physical space, object, or idea, which may involve habitual occupation, defense, personalization, and marking of the territory. (Source: psychology.iresearch) The doctor said, it's a trauma response in my case. I'll just tell you a quick story. My aunt took "care🙄" of me when I was a kid because my sister is in a coma and my parents have to stay at the hospital to look after her. My aunt's kids are always in our house, and they like to mess and meddle with our things, so I have to keep an eye on them and teach them their boundaries. Since then, I've become more wary of myself and my personal possessions, to the point where I stack books at school to create a barrier between myself and my seatmate. When someone places something on my table that isn't mine, I get irritated quickly. And when someone borrows my belongings, I get anxious and overthink everything until they return them. (Makes me very sentimental to let go my old things) Please don't get me wrong. There is always a fine line between being possessive and being territorial. That was something they were constantly mistaking. I'm happy to say that I'm the latter. I'm more of a giver than a taker, but if someone wants something I have that can't be shared, I'm sorry, but I'm selfish in that case. So, if I'm your girl, I'm not gonna share you with anyone for sure. Territory marked. Lol. 😏 Img Source: I dunno where the bebuu found this. Hehe. My internet browser is not functioning properly. Good thing the wolf is there to save the day. 😭
