Sunset, also known as sundown, is the daily disappearance of the Sun below the horizon due to Earth's rotation. As viewed from the Equator, the equinox Sun sets exactly due west in both Spring and Autumn.... It's an age thing. Society even uses the term 'sunset of life' to describe someone in their later years. The downing of the sun is a reminder that the day is almost over. It's a reminder of how important time is in our life and how we should not take it for granted. It's a time for reflection... It has been proven that watching the sunrise or sunset gives you a better sense of gratitude for the earth. When you are caught up in the natural beauty of the Earth (like a sunset), you rid yourself of any distractions and feel higher levels of satisfaction and gratitude for what's happening in front of you... There is no doubting that sunsets evoke positive emotions. Sunsets drive romantic feelings in people. They create magical moments and can amplify the love people have for each other. How often have you seen couples expressing affection toward one another while watching a sunset...Sunsets have a calming power for me. A gloriously setting sun can wipe away crankiness, restore a sense of peace, and remind me that I am only a small part of a much bigger picture. That life is so much more than my crankiness and bad attitude, and the stuff I get irritated with is usually not worth sweating...A sunset represents ending, romance, twilight, beginning of darkness, change, transformation and nature... Similarly, the vibrant oranges and reds of "clean" sunsets give way to pale yellows and pinks when dust and haze fill the air. But airborne pollutants do more than soften sky colors. They also enhance the attenuation of both direct and scattered light, especially when the sun is low in the sky....At sunset the sky is full of pollutants and wind-borne particles," the authors write. ... On the other hand, more dust and smog (at sunset) can have the effect of scattering light across a greater region of the sky, creating a larger drape of colors, whereas sunrise colors tend to be more focused around the sun... So what causes these beautiful colors at sunrise and sunset? The short answer: light and length. At sunrise and sunset, sunlight takes a longer path as it travels through the atmosphere. This allows for more blue light to be scattered and reds and oranges to be more visible... it's a transitional phase- day to night..as we know the period of changing from good to bad is very painful..as sun is a sign of positivity and night is a sign of fear to us as well as our ancestors…so may be we evolved like that..that's why we are painful to sunset..and get depressed.... That means it orbits Earth every 90 minutes—so it sees a sunrise every 90 minutes. Thus, every day, the residents of the ISS witness 16 sunrises and 16 sunsets. That fuzzy line hugging the planet, called the terminator, is the boundary between day and night. On the ground, we experience the terminator as dawn or dusk.... It keeps on changing but, still in every new formation, there is a freshness and it looks mirifical. It has so many colors that even a chameleon lacks those. Myriad dappled, yon murky, clouds cherishing the sky, these all events are beautiful. I have written few lines for the sky as I love watching sky.

The rising and setting of the sun are both visually stunning no matter where you in the world are. The setting of the sun remains one of the most beautiful experiences the natural world has to offer. Whether you live in the country or the city, on the beach or in the country, in a house or a condo or an apartment – even if you live in a shack in the woods – we all are under the same sky, and have the chance to view beautiful sunsets.
