Ethical Reflection about the Miss Universe 2020

Miss Universe 2021 was undeniably unexpected. Our candidate Miss Rabiya Mateo got a place in the top 21 and I am proud of her for that, really, because being in the top 21 is something that we should be proud of. I know some of the Filipinos out there don't like the fact that our candidate got only in the top 21, and that's what I don't like about being us Filipinos. Whether we like it or not, it is true that we Filipinos have this toxic culture, like we expect too much, we have this very high standards specially now that Catriona and Pia got the title in the previous years. What I want to write here is that, we should be grateful at least because Rabiya got into the top 21 and accept the fact, instead of feeling bad because of the result. It's not like she didn't did her best because she really did and that's what's more important. However, I don't understand why Miss Australia wasn't in the top 5. She really look perfect in her evening gown and the way she walks, she is honestly deserving for the top 5. When Miss Mexico was crowned as Miss Universe, I feel sad for Miss Peru. Based on my observation while watching and listening to their answers, I think Miss Peru deserves the crown or maybe Miss Brazil. I think Miss Peru delivered her answer clearly and Miss Brazil too. If I were to decide, in my own opinion, seriously, Miss Peru deserves the crown.
