I'm talking to myself in this post as well! We need to accept that there are some things we are not good at, and some things that we are really good at. Yes, everything can be improved with practice and experience, but sometimes we need to evaluate if the time needed to practice and gain experience is worth the end result...
And I came up with some ideas which I shared with you in my other post:
Woodwork / Furniture creation
I enjoy doing it, I'm good at it and it's good for my own soul. I've been doing DIY stuff since I was a child with Mom and Dad, I knew how to use a saw as a child before most children even knew what a saw was. Therefore, I do have knowledge, skills and experience of doing it my whole life.
This is what we did yesterday:
These are some ideas of what we will be working on creating the rest of the week each day when I get home from work:
I'm struck this one (sort of) off the list! π€£ I do not have the patience to master a skill of making flowers out of the stuff.
These were my first attempts today. For comparison the woodwork in the first picture from recycled wood we got for free, took less time to make than these flowers.
Selling my photos
I don't really have an outlet for them, I'm not sure how to get them sold or who would buy them? I've seen a lot of people sending them off to these stock places but in all honesty it sounds like too much of a hassle and not worth the reward of handing my photos over to someone for a minimal return.
Viral YouTube channel
I do have a YouTube channel which is a work-dedicated channel which I try and keep up to date. I was considering doing fictional interviews and stories of crime / ghost / horror on there. I still think the idea is great, it's just a matter of the time to edit the videos properly.
Repossession auctions
This needs to be on hold for a little while - I need BCH to recover significantly before I pull any of it into fiat to have a go at it. I know I'm good at it, I've done it before - but it's been over a decade.
If we know what our weaknesses and strengths are, it puts us in a position of being able to have much greater self-awareness which allows us to be able to focus on being productive. It also allows us to be able to recognize our self-worth and ensures we do not put up with being undervalued. Currently in my daily job, I know I'm undervalued, under paid and over worked.
I know that the work I do daily is not possible to be upscaled because most sites are wanting vaccinated people and they are paying such low money that it's not even worth it. I've accepted that this country pays poorly across all career paths and the only way to make a success of things is to diversify and be an entrepreneur. No boss will ever give you financial freedom, no matter how well paid you are - you will always answer to someone unless you are creating your own wealth.
By being honest with ourselves about our weaknesses we won't lose time by adding things to our days that are not going to pay the bills. My example is the cake stuff π€£ it is not worth my time to spend hours learning how to be a professional when those same hours can be translated into hard cash by woodwork.
It's also the same as those people on American Idol, they stand there with the idea that they are the best singer in the world and they cannot even hold a single note, or they sound like a dying cat. We need to be honest with ourselves and evaluate ourselves critically for our strengths and weaknesses, and by doing so we will make a success of what we put our energy into.
Just because you're not the best at something doesn't mean you shouldn't be doing it! Using my example of the cakes, even though I'm not good at it, I will still enjoy making things for family and friends rather than buying them going forward. If you love painting or drawing and aren't good at it, it doesn't mean you shouldn't be improving your skills! Feed your soul and let your heart rule your head for activities you enjoy. Without those things we can't be productive in our business lives because there is a piece that's missing. For me, I love sketching and always feel more enthusiastic with life after I've been able to feed my soul with some drawing.
greetings from a new user here. there are some notes that I take here that the ability and creativity that has been honed since childhood is the strength to be a part of life that is able to create extraordinary works of art. In the past I was taught to learn to judge something abstract and make it maybe difficult at first but habit is the answer and finally I can make something new from materials that have become trash.
"I need BCH to recover significantly before I pull any of it into fiat to have a go at it"
I had plans of converting some of my BCH to fiat just yesterday but on checking BCH price I realised it would be a big disadvantage for me, I had to cancel.
It's really sad because I wish there was a way for me to sell them for BCH as an NFT, but the options available now don't allow for it easily and opensea.io is so expensive with the ETH that it's just a failure.
You are blessed with that talent. And all you have to do is to honed it. Make it as your passion towards achieving success in that craft. Cheering for you!..πͺπ
Such a talented human. I wish you more blessings and achievements in life. Youright we shoulf focus on our success make time for significant things and do our best on everything.
Thank you for reading! Much appreciated πΊ I find it funny that my skills are so opposite to normal people. Most will say it's easier and less work to do the baking than physical woodwork, but I was more tired from the flowers π€£
