Education and Rituals

Education is the formal learning given to one in order to put the person in good shape towards the retalities of life. This has been the dreams of many parents as a day will come where it will be expected of the child to put all the lessons learnt into practice.

Rituals is a hidden way of doing things in a way that is not too palatable to the sight of people.

Education and rituals in modern days have become two parallel lines that can no longer meet. Children of this present world and age no longer believe in education as a stepping stone to their achievements. They instead believe that for them to be known and wealthy in life, it has to come through rituals which is popularly called "Yahoo Yahoo".

This has become a trend that has succeeded in changing the orientation of our youths and students especially in most West African Countries. They go into various forms of ritualistic events and they are made to perform some evil rites like eating meals prepared by the priest or herbalist, bathing nakedly in the public with specially made soaps provided for them and all manner of things.

Now, the latest trend of events is by throwing money into your compound at night, when you wake up, you see the money squeezed, if you pick the MONEY that will be YOUR end.

People have noticed different denomination of the Naira in different parts of their compounds.

This is their new strategy. It has been reported in one neighbourhood that a woman died some days ago after picking up #200 in her premises.

Let's be careful. Let's caution our children towards being influenced by evil peer groups. As a parent, we are the custodian of our children. Let's give them the necessary training needed and make it known to them that there great benefits when one is educated.

Make them to see the dangers and consequences that comes from getting involved in things that does not glorify God. Let's do our own part as a parent by guiding them towards walking on the path of greatness in life.
