Good day my dear read friends.
Here’s is another travel blog that happened nine years ago. All we can do for now are throwback travels as we are still facing the pandemic which makes travelling difficult.
This is again full of pictures so please bear with me.
I may have mentioned in my other travel blogs that me and my staff go on summer outing once a year. And this is one of them.
This time we sailed to Dapitan City in Zamboanga del Norte and stayed at Dakak Park and Beach Resort.
Unlike other summer outings we have wherein we directly left our office for our destination or start very early on a weekend, this time we attended first a company celebration for the success of launching another project.
From the office, we went straight to the venue of the party, bringing with us our baggage.
Our boat was scheduled to sail at ten that evening so we have plenty to time to enjoy the party. It takes less than twenty minutes drive from the party venue to the pier.
I have plenty of pictures in my hard drive but most of it were damaged when a virus got access of my PC. At least there were some left behind.
We left the party right after having our dinner and went straight to our boat. We arrived at Dapitan City early the next day, Saturday. We were met by the resort’s bus.
We were given welcome drinks when we arrived at the resort. Since we arrived early and check-in is still at one in the afternoon we first explored the area. We just left our baggage at the reception lobby.
The resort was so huge. There are lots of walking made. The beach was so far from the rooms but the road to the beach was paved so walking the distance was not a problem at all.
There were rides available but it has to be rented. We don’t have a budget for that so all we do was to take pictures while riding on it.
The shore has white sands and the sea was so inviting but we have to stop ourselves from diving in as we were not prepared yet for swimming.
There were a lot of climbing too. My staff just can’t resist to show their monkey self.
Soon lunchtime came. Their restaurant was near the beach so we went there after our tiresome walk. Their food was delicious and not so expensive. It passed my approval as the budget officer of the group.
After lunch we head back to the resort’s lobby as it was time to move-in into our room.
It was again another walk from the lobby to our room. The trek was going uphill so it was really an effort going to our room. This is what we have to get used to while in the resort.
In order to save on our budget we choose the family room. This can fit 10 – 12 persons. The problem with having this room is that there is only 1 comfort room. We have to take turns in using it.
When we were settled in our room and has each chose the bed to use, we went swimming in their pool.
Until it was dark and we have to change as we were going to Gloria’s Fantasyland.
We were given free tickets during our check-in earlier that day. Gloria’s Fantasyland is a theme park with plenty of rides.
Most of my staff were millennials so most of the tickets went to them. They tried almost all the rides that are available there.
There was a stage play in one area. One of my staff who is not fond of rides came with me to watch the show.
It was for kids to enjoy and the kids at heart.
The following morning was beach time. We went there early as we have to leave the resort that day too.
Having fun is the motto here, so that is just what we did.
We had breakfast at the restaurant again. The owner was there having his drink and we disturbed him for some pictures. Romeo Jalosjos is the owner of the resort. He made the news once which I will not write it here. You may turn on to Mr. Google to find out something about him.
After breakfast we moved on to their pool. The millennials were having fun with the children’s slide.
Across the resort was a mountain with cemented steps. We climb up there and was so awed by the view. So far, we have observed that we just kept on climbing in this adventure.
Then it was time to leave the resort. We intentionally left early as visiting our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal’s place was part of our itinerary.
Before reaching Rizal Park and Shrine, we first stopped by a carenderia to have lunch. One of our officemates who hails from Dapitan has contacted his father to treat us for lunch and that is where we met with him. Much to our surprise, he brought us one whole lechon to devour.
No pictures were taken during our lunch. Everyone was hungry that no one cares to take some pictures. We did not linger during our lunch. We packed the extra food and then we were on our way to Rizal Park and Shrine.
Meet our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal.
His house was reconstructed but at the same spot where he built the original structure.
There were plenty of smaller houses around the place. They are structures that tells the tales of how Dr. Jose Rizal lived while in exile. One house served as his clinic while another as an outside kitchen.
There were signs everywhere that will tell you the story about the place, just like this one.
From Rizal Park and Shrine we move on to Zamboanga City’s Boulevard. But sad to say, we were not able to take some pictures as heavy rains were pouring down on us.
We proceed to Dipolog City as we were in search of the factory of Montaño Sardines. We bought a few bottles for our pasalubong and then we were off to the pier to start our sail back home.
Again, it was a successful summer outing!
Thanks for travelling with me and joining me in our adventure. Hope you enjoyed the ride.

Parang ang ganda nga jan kung san tumira si Dr. Jose Rizal. Ganda ng beach :) I remember the name Jalosjos but can't recall the news about him. It's all the past anyway :D
